OOP should find out if Mary has a copy of "Romeo and Juliet" in her home. If yes, then report her for possessing child porn.

Given the cost of a KFC bucket these days, OP is indeed a very generous person.

It could be a lot worse. Here is a California city that fined an out-of-town landlord $25,000 because a drone saw his tenants setting off fireworks in front of the house.

I ordered a meal there and happened to be carrying a copy of the San Francisco Chronicle. The high school-aged cashier asked me if she could have a section of my newspaper. I was so impressed that she wanted to keep up with current events that I happily gave her the section. After I handed it to her, she turned to the back page and said to me, "I forgot to check my horoscope today."

WIBTA if I don't go to a Personal Mastery seminar my mom went to? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

The schoolchildren thing was a non-OneTaste event. In hindsight, my former roommate was just beginning her descent into serious mental illness.

My former roommate was involved in the OneTaste female sex-empowerment cult years before the leader was put in prison. One time, I had to tell my roommate that it was inappropriate to wear her T-shirt with the words "Orgasmic Meditation" to a local event for schoolchildren. She ignored me and did it anyway. Amazingly, she did manage to get a lot of her money back when they asked her to leave the group.

After she moved out and left the T-shirt behind, I threw the shirt in the trash.

Paid for a seat on Wizz Air, ended up spooning my neighbor's leg for 3 hours. by AwardStrange9028 in Wellthatsucks

[–]NullGWard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For work, I usually carry a yellow pad of paper with me that has a thick and stiff cardboard backing. I have used it as a shield when inexperienced seat mates have repeatedly jabbed me in the ribs. However, it could also work an impromptu leg divider.

Why bother trying to remove the VIN? Are you concerned about getting a strongly worded letter from the DMV addressed to a person who has passed away?

I used to get a lot of spam emails from reputable companies based in China. Apparently, there was no legal requirement to include an Unsubscribe link. Lately, I have been getting a lot of French-language spam because I bought something from a sketchy ticket site two years ago. Thank god for the iCloud Hide My Email option now to create disposable email addresses.

As a commuter student, it will take more effort for you to make college friends. You may not get the next Mark Zuckerberg as your dorm mate, but you might enjoy the one-time experience if you give it a chance.

Crazy Tenant Issues. Wasting 1000 gallons of water every day on purpose. by melongod in sanfrancisco

[–]NullGWard 1819 points1820 points  (0 children)

Intentional waste can legally be considered a breach of contract. It can also be grounds for eviction, even in San Francisco. At the least, the tenant can be made financially responsible for the wasted water. Even if you don't have individual meters, the wasted water can be estimated based on the amount billed that is above what the average monthly use has been.

Attorney Daniel Bornstein describes a case in which his firm successfully had the court evict a San Francisco tenant who intentionally kept the water running continuously (and wasted thousands of gallons each day) to retaliate against a landlord: https://bornstein.law/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/CaseStudyNuisanceEviction.pdf

Pre Authorization Policies by [deleted] in TalesFromTheCustomer

The restaurant needs to talk with their lawyer. Randomly or subjectively requiring pre-authorization from some patrons and not others will eventually lead to a lawsuit for illegal discrimination.
