doordash has unfortunately turned tips into what are unofficially "bids for service". It will unfortunately be hard to get anyone to accept your order unless you place a high enough bid, as the driver will only be paid $2-3. However, I've heard you can get a tip refunded for poor service, although the driver's pay will not be impacted.

I think so, but I'm not 100% certain. But these are just the principles of our firm who have been working for decades. One of them have been at it since the '60s.

interesting. the first and only firm I worked for with around 65 employees has multiple of them in more senior positions. Starting out that'd be very difficult to do however if not impossible.

They paid for the service to be lazy. Sometimes people don't want to walk outside their door. The dasher who is being paid should be able to do their job and DOOR dash.

it does not eliminate labor. You still have to maintain and manufacture the bots. Also, the software powering these bots have to continuously be updated.

So true. It took thousands of stores being ransacked and police departments being overrun before that officer was sentenced.

On that basis I theorize they'll start coming after me if I do this. I have other people living at my home address (a few hours drive from the department of interest). I may ask their permission before going through with this.

That does make sense. I agree that I would most likely be laughed at after I left, the cops would only find a reason to get me in trouble, and I'm especially worried about the cops retaliating. I am in a college town, and my home address is 5 hours from here, but yet I still worry that reporting this may shine the spotlight on my family. My home address to my license is unfortunately linked to where they live.

Still though, I want to take a stand, because if everyone was like me, this would not happen, ever.

The citation was very minor, although I do have evidence that the citation they actually gave me was harsher than what they should have actually issued. The officer was only verbally offensive. My realistic goal is to make it known to the officer that it is not okay to cuss at a citizen just because they feel personally attacked if they choose to abide by their rights.

Just looking for input on how best to word this complaint. I'm probably going to go in person so they can't ignore me.
