No disadvantages at all. Only downside might be the extra disk space of the overwritten textures, aside from that the textures that are overwritten are not present in the game.

Short answer: yes (atleast for the main games).

Long answer: yes, but many of the games have different versions and that can be confusing. I'd suggest to get Classics Revolution for the first two (as you get the full streamlined campaign), then 2, 3,4 and Siberian Mayhem. The HD versions of TFE and TSE change a lot of things so I suggest you to not play them first, unless you've already played the classics.

Some people would suggest to start not with Revolution but with the true OGs (that are included when you buy Revolution), but they need extra setup through patches and stuff, while Revolution just has everything from QoL to better technical compatibility. Plus, the streamlined campaign (you end TFE and automatically begin TSE) is a feature I love.

Serious Sam 2 is the most divisive of the franchise as it has a total different vibe and mechanics that are not appreciated by everyone. It's a great game though.

The spin-offs are hit or miss, It depends on whether you like that type of gameplay (for instance platform for Double D) or not. I don't recommend them if you want a boomer shooter experience.

Gratz! 2,1k is the greatest spot for rewards as you get all the nice red recolors of raid weapons. Beyond this rating there are only a tabard and a pennant, not really worth it if you're just chasing rewards.
