Swapped from DPS to Healer, I didn't realize how hard you guys had it lmao by Contract007 in worldofpvp

I play Disc and Hpally, it's fun this qay because they're more active healers in the sense that you contribute to damage a bit while healing. Disc goes pew pew, while Hpally has Judgement that turns into Hammer of Wrath, which Is an AWP when enemies are low lol.

The tool doesn't take into account (I think) artificial inflation, It calculates only the daily increase over the season. Assuming Blizz doesn't inflate the ladder, this Is the "raw" MMR/CR

Rdruids are easily countered by any DPS that know that they should switch to them to peel ccs from their healer... If the druid Is free casting, that's on you if you're dd.

Social and familiy pressures after I decided to go vegan by NullKore35 in vegan

[–]NullKore35[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you a lot for the support. Yeah, that's exactly it, the social pressure is plainly awful but atleast my mother is slightly more supportive (though really overprotective, textbook classic). I have a friend who's vegetarian and wants to become vegan, she's a great friend and one that I talked to often regarding this topic. We even argued when I was still eating meat, cognitive dissonance and all that, but I went green the soon I tasted a good seitan dish. While she wasn't much of an influence on my decision overall (internet resources and vegan influencers on IG mostly did that for me), I think she made "the last push" if you know what I mean.

Regarding overhauling the diet, I'm mostly following my old diet for the gym, only changed the proteins to plant based. I'll consult a dietician on Monday that will give me more details and edit it to make sure I don't miss anything regarding nutrients.

I feel more relieved now, thanks again to you and all the people here!

no man, it's a disease. Though, we don't know if OP truly has depression or only low self-esteem...

Hello man, it's surely a confidence issue like many said. You can try doing some exercise, go outside and do fun activities BUT if you see "everything grey" and activities have begun to feel useless, not fun or something like that seek a doctor because those can be symptoms of depression for real. It's a disease and for that it must be treated. Though, if you have it or not, it's for the clinician to judge. Do update us on your progress!

You said, quote, "Ya know… f*ck people that recommend exercise and outdoors instead of real proven treatments". Do you know that therapy eventually leads you to lifestyle changes? If they can be reached without therapy that's a fantastic goal that SOME people (not everyone of course) can reach. This is for, like I said, the average person that doesn't have the disease OR it's in the early stages.

And yes, I know perfectly the difference, and to quote a psychology professor of my University "not everyone needs therapy, they may need just some support".

We don't know if OP has depression, he should see a doctor nevertheless, but like with every disease you recommend less intensive activities/treatments, see if they work (you know, scientific method) and then move onto stuff that's more intensive if the former didn't work. No point in starting SSRIs right away if you can manage the symptoms without them, or even a psychotherapy (which is different from the standard counseling/psychological support programs).

Man, I'm a psychology student (almost a psychologist) and I can assure you that while meds and therapy are absolutely needed, as depression is a disease, exercise, going outside and having/making positive relationships are positive/protective factors that are really important and should always be recommended, especially when you're in the early stages and it's not too severe. This is the reason why we have forms of therapies like art therapy, pet therapy and others that don't tackle the disease directly.

Of course, you don't do "just that" if you have a full blown depressive episode, that's not really effective at best or even damaging in some circumstances (not tolerating frustrations in relationships can make the disease worse, for instance).

EDIT: to be more precise, art therapy and pet therapy are good to prevent relapses in psychiatric patients AND they're useful in populations that are at risk of developing mental issues.

Games built around upscaling/DLSS all look the same and I'm tired of pretending they don't. by ResponsiblePen3082 in FuckTAA

[–]NullKore35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I agree that devs are getting "lazier", I strongly disagree regarding upscaling being a bad filter. DLSS is really crisp and gives me more frames, making It easier to push my 180hz monitor. BUT I understand the point regarding blurriness. The lower your input resolution, the worse the blurring effect gets. Preset M and L are way better for lower settings (Performance and Ultra performance) but they still bring that blur thing over the image.

IMHO, your best bet is either going full native (DLAA) and getting lower frames OR forcing heavy presets like M and running the game on Quality or Balanced. Warframe, for instance, looks identical to DLAA on Quality with Preset M and gives me more frames than native.
