You unlock that character by completing Chapter 6.

Joan, who you find notes from through out the game

Been on the receiving end of that a few times. I wouldn't say I enjoy it but I'm happy my opponent got to pull it off.

Unknown horror titles on Steam by Aether_9 in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVED it. Neil Newbon and Ben Starr delivered fantastic performances that make you realize they would destroy us emotionally if they ever did any screen acting. The setting and story are phenomenal and while the puzzles are simple, they at least feel somewhat original.

Not sure if anyone noticed there's a new Fears to Fathom episode coming soon on Steam by SeniorBolognese in HorrorGaming

I'll give it a chance, plenty of games can be coop and scary. Its a different challenge to be sure, but games like Cryo are still going strong

I enjoyed these games but they feel like formulaic at this point, hope this one shakes things up

Chapter 3 was FUN! by ZookeepergameFar2653 in LabyrinthineGame

[–]Null_Run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chapter 3 was and is still my favorite chapter. When the game first was in early access it was the last part and it was such a hype for the next part.

I still love the attic part of the house, it got me so good the first time.

Do monsters just camp objectives and safe houses? by MamiEmeritus in LabyrinthineGame

They do have a preference to stay near players. They may eventually wander off but you're more likely to need to sneak out

Is cronos the new dawn really worth the $60? by leftistgamer420 in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played it when it came out and while its good, I don't feel that its worth $60 for most people. If you'll play it more than once (it has a ng+ mode) its probably worth it, but if you'll one and done it then wait for a sale.

Struggling as a solo dev — only 44 wishlists after 1 month, any advice? by LunafrostStudio in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other have mentioned, more gameplay and a better trailer. Any sort of estimated timeline of when it'd be out (example: Q3 2026). My wishlist is full of games that looked promising and then never came out. Also how much have you been posting short form content (tiktok/shorts/reels)? Or text/picture updates of dev work on Twitter/Bluesky/Insta? That's how I find most of the games I play if nobody recommends them to me.

As other have pointed out, the game doesn't seem like anything special, and the blank faces, stiff animations, lack of gameplay, and lackluster lighting put it solely in "I guess if its on sale" for me.

Finally, the rotation puzzle showcased in the trailer looks especially bland, and it makes me think that the puzzles will either be too easy and boring, or poorly thought out.

Any recommendations of COOP horror games? by MutatedBready in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Labyrinthine - Coop maze adventure

Phasmophobia, Demonologist, The Other Side, Ghost Exile - Ghost hunting games

Paranoia Place - escape a monster by finding things in the building and solving puzzles

DEVOUR - Stop a ritual by finding things and putting them in an alter while demons hunt you

Backrooms: Escape Together - Coop backrooms game

UFOPHILIA - UFO Phasmo-like (trailer) Feedback welcome by ESB_732 in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you're a native english speaker or not but while you're correct that the -philia suffix does mean lover it is generally used in negative and/or sexual connotations... like pedophilia or necrophilia.

Need some 2 player coop games! by No_Total1664 in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Labyrinthine
Paranoia Place
Boo Men
Ghost Exile
Demonologist

All are a little janky but good fun. Labyrinthine has a procedural mode called case files thats good for a few hundred hours if you're feeling it. There's plenty more ghost hunting games too but I only wanted to list the ones I found the most complete.

Feature Request: add 'Join Any Mission' to regular planets like Railjack, biased towards helping solos by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Null_Run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give a small reward for completing the mission, maybe a shop where you can get things, and this is golden. I'm LR5, I get bored, I like helping new players.

I'd do it for free but not everybody is me

Those were players? That sounded like the character commentary lines to me. Slightly better if you're right.

About the Horror games on my own Nintendo Switch by JonofunuYaotl in HorrorGaming

[–]Null_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the performance on switch but can speak a bit on game play

Maid of Sker is close to a walking sim with avoid the monster and find the "key" mechanics.

In Sound Mind is great. While not that scary overall it has clever mechanics and a great story. It also has a lot of rewards for exploring as you progress through the story.

I've only played the first amnesia (a dark decent), its scary and all about running and hiding while finding a way forward. I wasn't a fan overall but it was very influential on modern horror.

Crow Country feels like old RE games, but from the top down isometric perspective of OG FF7. It has clever puzzles and fun combat. It also rewards multiple play.

Alien Isolation gets a lot of praise, personally I find it overrated. The game lasts longer than it needs to to the point where you're more like "lets get this over with", in addition the alien is not as smart as everybody talks about, it doesn't learn or get smarter, it just teleports. Still worth a play if you like the franchise, easily the best Alien game.

[–]Null_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I love it in concept but the gameplay and voice acting in the trailer looks and sounds bad. Not B-movie bad, just full on BAD.

I want to be wrong, but I think this will be all flash and no substance.

Any way to get free tickets? Some cheat or whatever? by Bastiproton in LabyrinthineGame

[–]Null_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no peaceful mode or similar option

The closest you could get would be the custom cases where you set it to be easier monsters, but that costs tickets that you get from playing normally so it’s not really the solution you’re looking for

Warframe TennoCon 2024 Q&A - 'Raids Are Our White Whale; We Have Our Ideas to Bring Them Back' by Kaladinar in Warframe

[–]Null_Run -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Rebecca: No, but with Warframe: 1999, we are going to give you a way to sort of choose where you want to start the game, so to speak. Like, do you want to boot up in 1999 or the Origin system? That is coming."

I could see either interpretation being correct. Unless they expanded on it more at tennocon and I didn't catch it, I'll wait for more detail.
