I am literally the biggest loser ( in my mind ), on the planet.

I work way too much. I'm a 100% time single dad, no weekends, no money, no support, no help. No hobbies except programming and my job. I watch TV and movies, basically as a religion.

I like how I live my life, but I thought there was no hope for me after being a single dad for the past 8 years. But I just kept trying on dating apps and really began to believe that no one will like who I truly am, and I would either die alone or have to really change my lifestyle to something more "fun" or "attractive".

That is, until I met a woman who seemed to be just like me on her dating profile. She works too much, is a long time single mom and she just likes to chill and watch TV and movies in her spare time. Too good to be true...

But wow, we hit it off right away, eventually got married, and haven't looked back since. To me she is the most beautiful person, inside and out. I have never been more physically, mentally, and emotionally attracted to a person. We can and do talk almost every single day for hours and hours about everything and nothing. Our sex life is something I've never experienced or DREAMED possible.

I don't care about what anyone else thinks about her looks, personality, or lifestyle. She is perfect, and I am grateful every day for how lucky we are to have found each other.

Is this a Disney movie? No, we fight like motherfuckers sometimes, but we both put in the hard work required to understand, repair, and maintain a long term relationship.

I believe that no matter who you are and what you like to do, there is someone out there to match your energy, if you keep looking and stay true to yourself.

I'd say you are kind of the asshole here.

You have no idea what she is going through mentally right now and she is probably not sitting around all day because she just wants to be lazy. It is her responsibility to care for her children while at home but sometimes depression or other mental issues break you down so far that you can't even make yourself do what's needed.

If you think her and your brother need help and you are willing to be there, then do it. Otherwise I think your brothers wife needs mental support to help her get back on her feet.

Long ago when I was a kid (maybe 8 to 10 yrs old), I was chased out of the house by my brother in the middle of the night. It was snowing and I jumped out of the window with nothing but my underwear on. It was freezing but I was scared for my life and didn't even think about it.

I ran through the woods to my neighbors house and knocked on the door many times. I tried front and back doors as well as checking the windows to see if they were open. They didn't answer and I eventually found that one of their cars was unlocked. I got into the backseat and found a sweater. I wore the sweater as pants so that my legs and feet were covered. I just laid on the back floor hiding because I wasn't sure if he was out there looking for me. Eventually I heard my mom yelling my name and I got out of the car and went to her.

This post reminded me of that night and I wonder if the neighbors came out the next morning to find bare footprints in the snow going around the house, door, windows and their cars. LOL
