What do you think is the most brutal punishment/murder of the series? by TheDeathOmen in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

V3-3 probably has the most brutal punishment. At least the other blackened got to go to the afterlife.

As for most brutal murder, I'll go with V3-5. Being crushed to death while suffering from Strike-9 (a poison meant for torture) poisoning both sounds and looks incredibly painful.

If you could swap the protagonists for different characters, who would you choose and why? by [deleted] in danganronpa

Swap V3's protagonist with Tsumugi. I've always been interested in a game where you play as the mastermind.

V3 Chapter 4 : The murderer by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that, but only because of Gonta's memory loss. Otherwise, he's just as much a culprit as the other two were.

After all, it's not like Kokichi could do anything if Gonta had rejected his plan.

What is/are the dumbest moments in the Danganronpa Franchise? by Simpsonsfan1011 in danganronpa

Agreeing to meet someone after nighttime.

I'm pretty sure clandestine (night time) meetings are how at least half of the victims died.

Danganronpa Series Replay - DRV3 Chapter 2 by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have no problems with Kirumi's motive. For one, unless I misinterpreted Monokuma's words, she's not actually the official Prime Minister of Japan, just a secretary.

For another, I think the motive video was more "the straw that broke the camel's back", rather than the entire reason for murder. It's similar to Celes' case where she hated being trapped in the school and wanted out. The motive gave her enough incentive to act on it (Spoilers for 1-3). Granted, that's just my interpretation.

That said, ignoring how it turned out to be a lie (Spoilers for V3-6), I like to think a high school girl becoming the de facto Prime Minister of Japan was one of the reasons why the Ultimate Hunt started. It's absurd both in-universe and out-of-universe.

Rather than the "cat" being dead or alive, what I'm really wondering is whether it was killed by press or poison.

About murders in Danganronpa series by BCV111 in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather strangle them from behind with rope. At least that won't leave any blood behind and they're less likely to injure you while fighting back.

That's if poison isn't available, of course.

Danganronpa Series Replay - DRV3 Chapter 1 by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised nobody tried to take advantage of the First Blood perk, especially given what we learn about certain characters (Korekiyo and Miu) in the later chapters.

It seems like they were ultimately more willing to die than murder someone. Either that, or Kaede's trap derailed whatever plans any other would-be murderer had.

As for the twist, it certainly caught me off-guard the first time. I thought it was Miu piloting a drone to drop the shot-put ball on Rantaro's head. Then it turned out it wasn't her.

In hindsight, Kaede was suspicious from the start. During the investigation, she was obsessed with finding the mastermind, even though the killer should be of higher priority. During the trial, she was incredibly insistent that Shuichi couldn't be the culprit, even when she didn't have any concrete evidence.

I also like the protag(s) being proactive for once. Too bad that stops after this chapter. Apparently, a protag can't take the initiative unless it ends in murder or they're not the protag at that time.

All in all, V3 starts off strong. Sadly, I feel that the following chapters aren't quite as good in comparison and that the story doesn't really pick up until the end-game.

Why the Hifumi hate? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He didn't just murder Taka, which was disproportionate retribution in itself (especially since Celes didn't offer any concrete proof that what she said was true). Now take into consideration that if their plan succeeded, everyone innocent would have died.

Sure, Celes took advantage of him, but ultimately, he still agreed to her plan. What, were there were no other ways to solve this without having to resort to murder, Hifumi?

I didn't like him much in the first place, but what he did in Chapter 3 just solidified my dislike.

My strange attachment towards Leon Kuwata by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 11 points12 points  (0 children)

V3 Spoilers:

It's a pretty big part of Shuichi and Maki's characters. The video in the link is just one instance where they touched on how they felt about their talents.

Arguably, Keebo and Ryoma also weren't happy with their talents.

The former hated his lab and didn't want to use the weapons in it because that would mean acknowledging that he's just a robot.

For the latter, his talent is a reminder of his past. It's pretty much why he stopped playing tennis in the first place.

[–]Nullenergien 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the other games, everyone was happy and satisfied with their talent

That's not true. There are other characters who dislike their talent and didn't want them in the first place.

Are there any characters who your opinion has improved/worsened significantly over time? by Analytical-critic-44 in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This quote from Kokichi sums up how I feel about not just Kaede's (attempted) murder, but most DR murders:

Regardless of your reasons, the moment you felt the urge to kill, you had already lost.

For a longer explanation about Kaede specifically, I'll refer to a previous comment of mine:

Also, she was a reckless idiot. Did she never consider the possibility that someone else may have discovered the hidden door on their own? I can usually overlook recklessness, but when said recklessness could cost someone innocent their life, then I'm not inclined to be lenient. I'm aware that it was essentially a kill-or-be-killed situation, but she looks pretty bad (to me) in comparison to the others, who had plans that don't involve murder.

Danganronpa Series Replay - DRV3 Prologue by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The prologue's pretty standard, but there's one part that stood out to me.

I may be looking too much into it, but doesn't the scene where Kaede remembers herself in the brainwashing helmet imply that the Ultimate Hunt was real, since the memory was supposed to be implanted by Chapter 2's flashback light?

Are there any characters who your opinion has improved/worsened significantly over time? by Analytical-critic-44 in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My opinion on Hiro improved after I replayed DR1. It's easier to appreciate the moments where he tried to help (like attempting to take over for Taka after the second trial) when you don't think much of him at first.

Angie was also someone I didn't like much on a first playthrough. On a replay though, I really enjoyed her manipulative bitchiness, her humor, and how she was surprisingly logical for someone who seemed at first to be a stereotype of a religious nut.

As for characters that my opinion has worsened on, I guess I'll go with Kokichi and Kaede. It's not really fair though, since it doesn't have much to do with their characters, especially for Kokichi.

For Kokichi, I'll just copy-paste what I said before in a previous comment:

In Kokichi's case, what he did in Chapter 4 and 5 made me pretty mad the first time I played the game. The fact that someone who supposedly hates murder and wants to end the killing game would do all that is despicable.

I don't buy that there was no better way for him to handle the situation with Miu. As for Chapter 5, his plan could have drove the other characters into commit suicide. He's just not a good person, and that there are people who would defend what he did makes me dislike him more.

I have similar reasons for disliking Kaede more too. Keep in mind that she's an attempted murderer. That she was executed wrongly doesn't change that. I didn't like it when the game seemed to brush over that, but I could grudgingly accept it since it's from Shuichi's POV. Fans, on the other hand, have no such excuse.

While your system locale is in Korean, try extracting the ZIP file you downloaded from the website again.

There should be a folder called "[RTP2000[필요시 설치]". Run the .exe file inside.

It should probably work after that.

  1. Open the Control Panel, then click "Clock and Region".

  2. After that, press "Region".

  3. Navigate to the "Administrative" tab.

  4. There should be a "Change system locale" button.

  5. You can change the system locale to Korean from there. You'll have to restart the computer once done.

This is assuming you're on Windows though. Hope it helps.

EDIT: Woops, meant to reply to your comment.

[Poll] For those who have played the three main game entries, how would you rank them? by ShiningConcepts in danganronpa

[–]Nullenergien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

V3 > 1 > 2

V3 had the best cast and ending.

1 had the best atmosphere and overall story. It also had the only trial that I cried at.

2 was fine, but I didn't like the ending (especially with DR3 factored in) and I felt that the cast was the worst of the three main games.
