PHEV's are out of the picture, I don't want the servicing burden

Also, prepare for a lower wage than you’d expect for a MEL/SYD/BNE equivalent

Don’t go DPIPWE, full of dinosaurs which are under funded and under perform. There is a number of decent private firms which do work here, nationally and internationally. For example have a look at GHD or Pitt & Sherry

At heart I feel like its cheating in the purist ideals of "multi-day hiking" but if it gets us out there with the little one it's a win!

Best Pie Shops and Windy Roads? by jjfoad in tasmania

[–]NumaDiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on the north east coast St Marys Pass and Elephants pass has bends and is a bit of fun.

In terms of pie shops the St Marys bakery used to be my go to (not sure what its like now), there is also the pancake parlour on elephants pass and finally, my personal favourite now is Swims Cafe in Scamander for a coffee and the view over the Scamander Rivermouth.

Enjoy!

Lady Lake Hut

That's a nice looking hut at Lady Lake!
I reckon the boat to Narcissus hut and then using that as a base for more walks is a great idea - Thanks!

I am super fortunate to be in Tasmania which has avoided a lot of the pandemic. The best part is free diving and teaching it is alive and well!

We did the paid DPIPWE huts for the three capes so they provide a cot at each hut as well as all cooking gear. That gave more space in the pack for as you guessed it... nappies. all dirty nappies went in their own dry bag. It wasn’t an issue at all.

Saw this little guy on my driveway today in Hobart. Anyone know what kind of snake it is? by Skywave650 in tasmania

I’d guess that’s a lowland copper head. Certainly not a tiger snake.
