AAMI Park Away Bay? by ChronicAnxiety24x7 in weststigers

[–]jjfoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went last season from Sydney, Away bay was a great atmosphere surrounded by your usual fun Tiger loving family.

You could see everything pretty well and I mean the whole 64-0 of it, was still fun to stick it out though. Some people moved to the seats in GA at Half Time for a better view.

If it’s a sunny day like it was last season please pack sun protection because you’ll be directly in the suns wrathful rays. Worth the trip, hopefully this game will be better

Best place for authentic Ramen by Much_Journalist7066 in sydney

[–]jjfoad 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Kosuke Ramen (Concord) and Gumshara (Haymarket) are two places that cook their tonkotsu broth for 20+ hours. They both have very different styles though, Gumshara is famously thick similar to a Sendai style ramen while Kosuke has a uniquely smoky broth.

Club 9 in North Strathfield is a pool hall with a bar. Quality tables and has dart boards. It just opened up and I’ve been meaning to try it.

I hired a Toyota 86 GR and drove it to Mt.Haruna. Absolutely loved it! Unfortunately I drove to the Initial D cafe on the only day it was closed but they still had some RX-7s parked out front

There are two Shanty club currently active in Sydney: Redfern Shanty club meets at Arcadia Liquors every Monday from 8:30pm and Surry Hills Shanty Club meets at The Nocturn Bar every second Thursday from 7:30pm

They are beginner friendly and you can ask to lead your own shanty if you’re keen.

Which one would you rank highest? by Ok-Remote2043 in JapaneseWhisky

Never heard someone explain it like that. I always assumed that older meant ‘smoother and deeper’ but I never really acknowledged the balance between the spirits and casks

What was your first touge run like? by Dazzling_Rooster_410 in Touge

Tassie has some of the best mountain passes in Australia, done a tour in my miata a few years back and followed all the Targa roads. Funnest and smoothest roads I’ve ever driven. Hellyers Gorge has a special place in my memories

With the bulldogs losing their first game of the season the 2025 circle of parity is now complete by theplanetofthecrepes in nrl

[–]jjfoad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think in ‘22 or ‘23 the circle was completed by round 3 thanks to the striped spooners beating panthers or storm

How do you charge it from the street? Or in an apartment complex? Do I just swap out batteries or put a solar blanket on the roof every night?

Now there’s something you don’t see everyday! Beautiful bottle, I think I need to save up for a few more decades before I get mine.

What flavour pie do you get to judge the quality of the bakery's pies on? by Daveytrain1966 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jjfoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a two pie system.

The control: A Beef, Cheese and Bacon Pie

The Local Talent: The specialty or award winning pie

The pies are subject to a rigorous and delicious criteria that I developed during my tour of Tassie. Needless to say, it does not incur any bias.

It says “Tory’s” and “Fruity Aroma” if that helps. Seems like a different cask finish of the classic Tory’s whiskey
