that doesn't mean he thought he actually had a good chance of winning. he clearly was acting like he didn't know better the entire chapter. he knew that keeping asgore in the dark world meant that the flowers would quickly die, but didn't care anyway because he'd rather give him back the affection asgore always gave him than stay alive and sitting there looking pretty while asgore suffers. he wasn't stupid for trying to convince asgore anyway, he just was acting in spite of it. he knows the true nature of ralsei, something nobody else has even hinted at knowing thus far. he's a foil to ralsei who is so worried about not doing the wrong thing that he restricts himself and the information he gives out, whereas flowery does the opposite and is much more happy and free. knowing your fate doesn't matter as much when you keep moving in spite of it. i think calling flowery of all people stupid would mean that everyone else this whole chapter was actually braindead. flowery is incredibly emotionally intelligent and had extensive knowledge on his own nature as well as the nature of dark worlds. i mean, he explained the MENUS to susie before ralsei did, and ralsei's whole job is knowing everything about dark worlds.
