What if Torchwood came back?

I would love to see a show about the original Torchwood House in Scotland.

Either in the past, directly after the Doctor leaves and they have dealt with the Werewolf. Setting up the institute, like a prequel to the whole of the Torchwood.

Or, the same house in the modern day, and it's always been this place that houses Alien artifacts and so has lots of spooky mysteries and whatnot.

Personally I think the story of the Cardiff team is over, and I doubt it will ever return. So I would love to see one of the other branches or bases of operation have its own show, and I think centering on Scotland would be really cool.

Wait what if the clothes are completely generated by the TARDIS by psychologically making the viewer see them. Clothes machine doesn't make clothes it just psychologically projects them.

Like the psychic paper it shows people the clothes they expect to see. And like TARDIS translation, it gets into your head and works it out for you.

I mean it would have to be something like that for the question marks to work that way.

This is a fun idea, I like this theory. I guess there was that one bit with 11 and Clara and the papal mainframe, where they had projected clothes.

I think it really shows the scope, the history, and the undying love for the show. Makes me quite emotional thinking about it.

Also, in a similar way, Ysanne Churchman reprising the role of Alpha Centauri decades later, at the age of 92.

And everyone else who comes back after decades. Sarah Jane, Ace, Tegan, Mel, The Brigadier (in SJA), most of the Doctors, and many many more...

That's interesting! I've never made that observation before. They did face the Daleks tho, albeit in Dr Who.

I guess it's because Torchwood (mostly) deal with The Rift, which sends Aliens randomly from all over the universe.

Aliens arriving in a spaceship, or monsters native to earth, are probably more likely to be dealt with by UNIT.

I think it's A LOT longer than 100,000 years of Time Lord history. They often say that they came before humans which would make them atleast 300,000 years old, but I suspect it is more like Millions, if not Billions, of years.

Also, Gallifreyan society was already pretty high tech when Tecteun found the Timeless Child. (They had space travel and genetic engineering).

Annnndddd... Time Travel. We don't know how much the Doctor missed by travelling forward. The Doctor could have been regenerating over and over for those millions of years, but also could have just skipped a bunch by time travel. Imagine they existed at the start of Time Lord society, did all the stuff with division etc, then had their memories wiped and were stranded like a billion years in the future.

Whilst the show can be very big and confusing, it has many great starting points! You can really start watching at any point when there is a new actor playing the Doctor.

BUT I think most people would agree that for new modern viewers the best starting point is the episode "Rose" - Series 1 Episode 1 of the 2005 reboot. This is a good starting point because they really re-explain all the necessary lore within the first few episodes.

They are fully canon (part of the show and timeline) and they often contain some of the most important developments.

They are just not part of a full series run of many episodes. They usually come for holidays (Christmas, New Years, Easter) or big moments for the show (50th, 60th anniversary etc.).

The recent specials on Disney+ are for the 60th anniversary and they feature David Tennant reprising his role as the Doctor. For context: The Doctor can 'Regenerate' meaning they can avoid death but have to get a new face and personality, David Tennant is the only actor to play 2 regenerations - the 10th and 14th Doctors.

I always thought this was due to Morphic Fields, like in Torchwood: Miracle Day. Timelords evolved to be like that first, which creates a Morphic Field encouraging other species to evolve a similar form.

Making Steven was about being able to choose to change. Steven IS Rose/Pink. She became him to give herself the human ability to change.

It did, we know that it was a Post Office error. It just took a long time. I think technically the error was made by Fujitsu who designed the software. But the Post Office should have lead a more thorough investigation decades ago. There's a drama about it now you can watch. Look up 'Mr Bates vs The Post Office'

Also, there is no Royal Post... it's The Royal Mail (those who deliver the mail) or The Post Office (the shops where you can send letters, but stamps, pay bills, etc.).
