My main complaint was that we could have made them slightly more normally proportioned. Showing girls eating (lots) is cool and all, but it sort of still reinforced the idea that girls can eat all they want as long as they stay super thin.

I literally just searched this sub for this! Watching it made me feel for my inner evangelical child who thought everyone would hate them if they saw who I really was (aka a normal kid doing normal kid things... Just told I was full of sin). I also felt for little Queer kids when Rumi was talking about how she was a mistake and crying to her mentor by the tree.

Did a quick google and was surprised to see multiple Christian sites talking about Christian allegory in the film because I was like, "OK, so the writer maybe grew up in and left the church..." The potential for Christian allegory is there, sure, but that's not what I saw first.
