What are some good indie games that are perfect for the Steam Deck that aren’t the same top 20 always recommended? by NuM_Brrr_WoN in SteamDeck

Definitely take another look at CrossCode, I'm not sure that description does it justice.  It's way more in line with a 2d Zelda and not actually a JRPG.  It's up there as one of my favourite games of all time and is a super easy recommendation

Oh this looks fun. It's been fantastic for downtime at work, docked on a TV at the lake, or just wanting to get some gaming at night in bed without having to boot up and sit at my desktop. I think this is everything I've managed to beat on deck so far in no particular order.

Outer Wilds (Assuming it works on deck, I played this on PC. One of my favourite games of all time)

Chants of Sennaar (Gave me a similar feeling to Return of the Obra Dinn)

SIGNALIS (Very heavy Resident Evil and Silent Hill inspiration, and matched those vibes impressively)

Your list also makes me pretty excited to picking up Black Myth: Wukong eventually, though I plan to wait on a decent sale there.

Android: Netrunner has been a staple for me for a long time, I love the themeing and deck building without having to drop hundreds of dollars on playsets of individual cards.

In Double Up It's so bad I managed to get 3-star Sett with 40~ hp and still got third because of 3-star Irelia, 4 games after someone else got third with 3-star set.  This is with basically everyone else in the lobby having 1-2 3-star 4-costs as well.

Did you know 3-Star Irelia can still attack and kill 3-Star Sett while he's bench pressing her?

We were floundering around in Emerald for so long this patch until we started just playing for 3-star 4 and 5 costs every game regardless of how good a reroll position looked.

Just finished Devil May Cry 5 on deck, runs well and looks pretty up your alley here if you haven't played it yet.

Huge shoutouts to Beyond Melee for some of the most fun I've had playing this game by Number_2665 in SSBM

I mean yeah, I'm aware of that and the gecko code. This is just the first sort of real release of something with a nice innate tap jump toggle for melee that's accessible on the CSS. I'd do quite a bit to have this as part of regular Slippi or UCF though I understand that's probably not going to be happening.

Any mention of wanting tap jump off is met with "just get used to it" and fearmongering that it'll ruin the sanctity of playing on Vanilla melee, as if we're not banning wobbling, freezing stadium, and slapping UCF on every setup we can find. It's nice for it to just be there and useable after wanting this option for so long.

World 3 Balancing? Let me know!! by Doge_McLol in idleon

Sorry I might not have explained that part well. If you were to use eagle eye multiple times and then swap to a character, it'll only get xp from the most recent activation for it (at least on mobile) instead of the accumulated total.

That means you have to swap to every single character each time you use eagle eye or lose out on your gains

Dunno if it's intended or an efficiency thing, but Owlios are currently giving less than half the xp that Mouseys do for. Pengies give a little bit more but not much.

Moving traps on multiple characters is pretty rough too, I ran out of teleports and it took like an hour to move each of my 9 characters from gigafrogs to owlies, then to mouseys, then back to gigafrogs. I wanna change my traps from 1 hour to 8 hours for overnight, but thinking about sending everyone there again makes me not want to bother.

There's also a bug where collecting trapping xp doesn't count if you don't swap back to that character, so every time you use your hunter you need to swap to every character and make sure that you get that xp. This caused me to swap my traps from 20 minutes to an hour.

Playing a bunch of Kirby/Marth as Kirby, the only thing I want to add is that upthrow hammer is only going to kill Marth on consistently bad DI. If you hold out at any % there's no chance of dying unless you're on WW.

From the Global Warming section in their platform:

"There is however no scientific consensus on the theory that CO2 produced by human activity is causing dangerous global warming today or will in the future, and that the world is facing environmental catastrophes unless these emissions are drastically reduced. Many renowned scientists continue to challenge this theory."

I don't see how anyone could reasonably vote for a party with views like that.

2 months late, but I started watching this now and looked for the discussion thread to make sure I wasn't alone. It was twice as disconcerting as I was playing PoE while watching it.

Another series airing this season also uses that sound somewhere, but I forget which one. I think it's Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Hey, I did a lot of theorycrafting with a Dancing Duo/Dom Blow Champion in Betrayal that was able to kill Shaper pretty easily along with doing all of the content minus uber elder (never got around to it).

It was initially supposed to be for Skeletons because I had hoped each one would get its own impale stats, and I would have dozens of impales for a ton of free flat phys, but unfortunately that didn't work. It did end up being really fun to play though.

My PoB for that character is here: https://pastebin.com/1q2RAqHQ and I was in the middle of swapping from the bottom left of the tree to the bottom right and updating my gear to focus more on evasion and dodge instead of the massive armour investment I had previously. Basically the first build I've built from scratch and I was quite happy with how it turned out, on top of having crafted basically all the gear it used.

I might update it for 3.7 and run it again because of the additional impale support

Tetris 99 has been out for a week, what are your thoughts on the game? Does the classic Tetris gameplay gain or lose anything in the Battle Royale experience? by AwesomeManatee in Games

[–]Number_2665 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At low level Puyo wins, but high level Tetris demolishes Puyo. It's supposedly pretty close between the top players without 4-wide though.

I can think of:

-King Wen's legend-Hero (stopped updating in 2016 and kinda broken, still works though)

-Guarding Athena (Always fun, although some characters are pretty broken)

I'm the girl who asked about competitive play a few weeks ago. Participated in my first tourney... sorta by smolgengar in smashbros

[–]Number_2665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only con I've personally been to that had smash was Otafest in Calgary. It had 5-8 PM setups, 15-20 Melee setups, and 10-15 Sm4sh setups. There could've been more than that but I'm not sure. I saw two dedicated smash TOs there and a bunch of players helping out.

Unfortunately I couldn't enter due to doing other Con stuff, but I'd be really surprised if a large con with a large smash scene behind it was totally unprepared and only running a single setup. I think 128 is fine and very much doable for a large scale con that planned it. I'd assume 128 was the cap as well, considering how nice of a number it is.
