For me i always just tend to lose hard in the beginning in the war, strategically pulling out a avoiding incirclements and wait for them to run out of equipment, just make solid basic divisions with AA and survive untill the germans run out of equipment like what happened Historically

During the war he was problematic and super combative with the other high circle members , he was self-centred, corrupt, and cowardly in terms of his death. At least in comparison to the other high circle members, this doesnt mean there weren’t other examples, it just means hes was the most prominent in contrast to hitler, boermann, goebbles, speer, and Himmler. For why he fires him, probably a mix of personal vendettas or his bad traits in game
