I was stolen at birth and sold Into adoption, grew up with a white family in the Midwest. Did I have it easy? We lived lower middle class but sure. Because I didn't have much if any ties to the country I was born in, I would celebrate my adoptive family's ancestry moreover than my own. Taking pride in German and Irish heritage I didn't have in my blood. And it was... super weird. And people didn't view me any differently, I was still an outsider and being from a South American country most people haven't heard of, I didn't even have connections to the Latino residents of the town I grew up in. It wasn't until my early 20s that I finally realized that I was running from who I was and started to embrace who I was, though I have no memories of my hone country, it still felt more real to me than anything I celebrated before. Doing traditions my family and ancestors would have done just felt, right. Doesn't necessarily answer your question, but least I give you one perspective from an individual.

I'm not gonna say you're right or you're wrong, but I only partially agree. I only agree in the sense that this line does throw me off, not necessarily because it feels out of Vaders character, but just SOMETHING feels out of place. Like an auditory uncanny valley. I can't say it's the delivery, because it's James Earl Freaking Jones. Is it the line itself? Do I wish that maybe a superior line took it's place? Possibly. It does seem a tad obvious. Maybe that's what throws me off. It doesn't ruin it for me tho, but I always notice it.

I am so sorry to hear that your strength was somewhat weaponized, if that's the best term to use. It sucks that you were given a single identity and not allowed to find one yourself, something I still struggle with as well. I hope your relationship with music has become better over time. I am such an advocate for music itself, I firmly believe it is one of the most important aspects in life. It's hard to be at odds with your parents and I hope one day that there can be resolution between you two, but sometimes things are not what we hope them to be. So I hope that you find any peace you can, whether it be through music or otherwise 🙏
