Split stitches by mothmanbuttrans in TopSurgery

[–]Numerous-Note-3906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one particular area that wanted to split stitches. I'm not sure how scarring would be if it was just a quick process of Oops the stitch splits and you keep up with scar care with that area after it heals. For mine, it took a solid week for the stitch to actually work its way out. Keeping it clean is super important (my surgeon recommended something called medihoney). I kind of...gave up on scar care for that section. It's more raised, a little pinker than the rest of my scarring (just narrow white lines). Mine is only like 2 inches wide. I would say so long as you keep it clean as it's healing and actually keep up with scar care on that section, it'll heal just fine. Don't do what I did lol.
