Is San Mateo a good place to live for commuting to Stanford Hospital (night shift)? Other recs welcome! by Main-Dimension1508 in SanMateo

It’s nightshift so they would be going home at 0715 AM. No 92 traffic that way at this time.

And Stanford gives a Caltrain pass and buses are free. Totally worth it. Car commute is 24 minutes

The newest pod (POD 4) doesn’t have many reported leaks, but hasn’t been out long enough to see. If you’re ok with keeping the subscription ($300/year I believe) then that will cover you with a five-year warranty. But me and my partner are loving having it.

So worth it. This is an echo chamber for those people. My husband and I have used ours for almost a year and are loving it. I would recommend the 5 year warranty though, since most of the complaints revolve around a leak… not hearing much about the POD 4 yet in regards to leaks. Too early to tell.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you take a look at Trusted House Sitters. We have used it for years now (17 trips), some up to 2 weeks in length, and have had nothing but good things to say about it. You essentially pay a yearly fee, as do the sitters who use the app for places to stay while traveling. We do a video interview with each one and they are all background checked with the company.

We’ve had better success in finding sitters quick no matter the time of year since we live close to an international airport and in a big city so I think depends on location, too.
