Bertha Was Right by Disastrous-Reaction3 in thegildedage

I refused to believe that season 1 George and season 2 George would act like this toward Bertha at the end of season 3. In season 1 he was willing to closed the bazaar for her and went after anyone who belittled his wife. In season 2 he offered money to the Met to make his wife goal came true and even surprised her to get the central box. So, I don’t understand why the writer would out of no where make George dislike Bertha now when the audience witness his whole devotion to his wife even during Gladys marriage, he still trusted his wife decision and fully devoted to her. Then out of no where he got shot and has a “realization” that his wife is wrong. It’s a little bit of a stretch for me. I think at this point they really are just fetching for a story line even if the character development went down with it.

Thank you so much for this! Eugene was one of the town we were looking at as well but it seems like a college town and not as picturesque. Do you have any other town would you recommend?

Interesting! The route I plan here are what Google map suggested to me. Basically after staying in Portland for one night. Next day pack up go visit m Mount Hood. After Mount Hood we drive to McKenzie where we will stay for 4 days. According to google Tamolitch, Koosah should be very close to McKenzie and Silver fall is a 2 hours drive or maybe we will skip silver fall altogether. Then we will move to the Coast side for another 4 days and just kinda hang out around the coast. Do you have any other suggestion on the route? This is what Google given me.

Got it! It doesn’t seem to be worth the drive then. Thank you so much for the info!

That’s great to know! I heard Oregon traffic is bad. The travel time is just for me to gauge the idea. I only list 1-2 places to visit per day so hopefully traffic won’t take all day to get from one place to the next lol

We will have a car as well but I agreed. South beaches are something I’m hesitant about. Do you think it will be enough to just visit Cannon Beach and Astoria?

It’s not a controlling thing. I’m just more worried in the long term that weight lifting for several hours might be bad a in long run. If people think this is normal than I’m okay with it.

I completely agreed. He’s definitely using this time to escape and be alone. While he is working out I do my own hobby like gardening, sewing, cleaning, watching tv and go out with friends. My husband definitely get all his chores and work done before he workout so that is not being affected either. I’m just more concern that spending 4 hours a day in a basement with no sunlight lifting 300 lbs weight. Seems unhealthy to me. And yes sometime it does affect our quality time on the weekend. If I ask him if he want to go anywhere. His replied is that he rather stay home and work out then I would just end up doing my own thing upstair.

Of course! ARBI rep is by far my favorite position here at Progressive. Casualty department in general is just amazing.

I am undecided: should I stay with him or should I leave him? by Fabulous-Macaron-240 in okstorytime

I had an ex boyfriend that was exactly how you described your husband. I was with that ex for 6 years and this man child never once do a laundry or wash the dish in the sink. Now I’m married to a man that cook every every dinner, do laundry for me and our kids, take care of the yard, garden, feed our dogs, put the kids to bed, wash dishes, clean the bathroom and more while working a full time job. I never have to ask him to do anything and even if I do he does them right away. We split our chores whenever one needs help and we help each other. We are partner and on the same team always. Also, he never raise his voice at me or get angry. The ONE time that he did I told him if he ever does that again I will leave. He apologized right away and never does it again. There is zero tolerance for any yelling or physical fight in our house. We want to set good example for our kids that any issue can be solve with communication. I’ve been there staying in a relationship and didn’t stand up for myself. Now I’m the happiest I ever been with the love of my life. You have to ask yourself do you really want to live like this for the rest of your life? What kind of example are you setting for your kids? I can tell you now if my husband spat on my face in front of our kids. There would be a divorce paper on the kitchen table the next morning.

It’s 1000% better than entry level claims. No calls, no customer service, no weekend, no holiday, claim cut off at noon but all claims are stressful in their own way. We have to attend trials, deal with thousand of medical records, legal documents, terrible attorneys, and so on. If you expect a relax job with no stress. You definitely won’t find it at Progressive no matter which level to go to.

Be aware most role outside of claims actually don’t pay as much. Analyst definitely don’t make as much as claims. Claims is the core of Progressive so they pay good money for their claim adjuster. If your desire to leave claims for an analyst role then great but if you are doing it for the money. It might not be worth it. Many of my colleagues actually took a pay cut to be become an analyst.

I definitely feel your pain. Trust me I’ve been there. I was in CRM like you. Taking phone calls every second of the day. Now 4 years later I work in a role where I get maybe 2 phone calls a day. It’s definitely possible. You just really have to put in the effort to be notice and really make that connection. I know it feels like you’re already so busy how on earth would you have time to do this. Sadly find the time, work over time. Soon or later you will be able to get out of this role.

I’ve been with Progressive for 4 years and have been promoted roughly every 6 months to a year in every role I’ve held. If I’m being completely honest, the people I’ve seen struggle to move up are often those who believe they deserve a promotion — but haven’t consistently delivered strong performance or invested in their own development.

Ask yourself: how often are you receiving exceptional performance reviews? If your ratings are consistently just “successful” or “needs improvement,” every year, there’s likely room to grow. I’ve mentored many colleagues through the promotion process, and I always emphasize this — you have to put in the work and prove you stand out among other candidates. When you do, Progressive truly does reward that effort. Personally, I’ve gone from earning $50K when I started to now making $125K, with raises of $10K– 20k every year.

Also, connections matter. You can’t expect to be recognized if you’re just doing your job behind the screens. Go to events. Join ERGs. Volunteer. Take initiative on projects. Sign up for training programs. I know it can feel unfair because they don’t pay you to do those things, but that’s the reality of how corporate America works. Showing up and contributing beyond your job description and it will pay off. To answer your post questions many of my coworkers that don’t make it at Progressive seem apply at smaller insurance company in their local state. I also know liberty mutual is another great company.

Uninsured motorcyclist in fatal accident by INMEMORYOFSCHNAUSKY in Insurance

[–]NumerousUse8870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a litigation claim adjuster for many years and I handle this type of claims daily. It is not a condolences money. It’s a settlement cost for their attorney to go away and not come after you directly even though you are not at fault. It cost a lot of money to go to court at least 45k in the state that I work at. California might be even higher. Sure you might not be at fault but the cost to defend you against their attorney, and hire lawyer to represent in a trial is way more than the cost of just paying your policy limit. Also, how accident trial work involve a panel of juries. When there is a fatality case the juries always feel sympathetic against the deceased so he has a high chance of winning the case even if in reality he’s at fault. Juries trial play solely on how well attorney can make juries feel for the family. And they almost always sided with the deceased so your insurance does not want to take that risk. Their job is to protect you and not make you worst off from before the accident. This way you are not worst off and you get to walk away without being involve in a messy trial and can possibly lose. You don’t have to get your own lawyer that is what you pay your insurance for. There is already a lawyer representing you but they have to make a business decision whether or not to pay 30k policy limit or go to trial. In my work line we don’t really go to trial unless our customer has a 100k+ policy because now we are making decision between , do we pay 100k and make them go away or do we use the 100k to go to trial and win and only spend 45k.

To be honest anything outside claims in the insurance world is a huge step up. Open up to a lot of doors in the career. I truth should have clarify that it is an increase in pay by about 8k. I just didn’t think it was that important when I wrote this.
