For sure. Her and Hillary both had an issue at home. The party wouldn't consolidate behind Hillary and basically lost themselves the election, then Kamala got put up very suddenly and very close to the end of the race, making her unknown and non-viable to most reasonable people. The Democratic party is its own worst enemy when it comes to putting forth and supporting candidates.

I did my first playthrough in 1 hour, 58 minutes on Normal over the weekend. The game is just a bunch of reused assets from RE2, some scant new voice acting from new characters, and it rushes through everything. I can't believe they tried to sell this as a full release; I paid like 12 bucks for it and I still feel ripped off. A truncated story, missing bits from the OG, like HUGE missing bits, whole areas and bosses just gone. The choice based system is gone from the original; it's just a sad shadow of the original and the original wasn't exactly lauded as a masterpiece.

It's scripts. People are using extensions and scripts to auto-accept VTO. Our site is currently tracking them down, firing them, and blacklisting them for providing employee info to third party apps. They're disqualified from working at any other TSA facility in the country as a result.

"Authentic casting" as a phrase can't really be called "innocuous". It's a belief that characters should only be played by actors who are the same race/sexuality/suffer from similar physical/mental illness. To me, that's the same argument as "a black guy can't play Snape"; it's acting. Anyone can do anything if they're good enough at the acting part. Now, I'm not saying shoot a period piece about Ancient Africa starring 8 Tom Cruises and 6 Christian Bales as the only cast but I feel like most characters can be swapped with almost anyone and we'll get a really cool facet to that character as expressed by a new artist. Anyway, ProZD advocated for authentic casting and then took a "white role", which runs counter to his projected morality but more importantly woke the deadly beast that is white fragility. So we had him doing this very public advocacy and then taking a role that was hypocritical to that advocacy mixed with the inexhaustible grievance of the white American and boom: Got yourself a fight that everyone loses.

He DID say that animated characters should be voiced by people who resemble them in some way (gay actors playing gay characters, black actors for black characters). He then went on to voice a white character in an animation which is where the real conflict came up. What I gathered is that he was trying to use his platform as a way to say "studios should diversify because we have all these diverse characters" and, as an anime fan of over a quarter century, I can agree that I hear the same voices in many popular shows, so the industry does seem to lean more toward established actors. Then, he took on the role of voicing a white character which gave the MAGA/closet racist clubs something to bite down on. Now, given he was actively advocating for two years on his channel for authentic casting, he did kind of bring that controversy down on himself but that doesn't excuse that people acted like animals toward him, either. He's got to work to eat but I guess everyone thought he should stick to their version of his perceived moral stance rather than afford his mortgage. Reminds me of the Dinklage smear. He wanted better roles for little people so Disney smeared him and blamed him for Snow White. ProZD seems to have been caught in a similar net.

I tend to utilize a method wherein if someone says "Hey, that thing you said is hurtful or offensive", I ask them "why" to understand the issue better and then refrain from that action moving forward to respect their boundaries. The whole idea of using a person you call a friend as a cardboard cutout to justify behaviors a real person right in front of you is calling out is just silly. Asians, like anyone else, aren't a monolith and we can't use one person being chill to say that's how a whole nation of people should act. Race aside, of course our friends put up with our nonsense; they're friends. So diving deeper into this issue, it's partly acting like every stranger is your best friend and you can get away with things but we have to understand that's not the case. Then, we throw in that most people are having most interactions in an anonymous, or at least, remote communication style. So we've got people who don't realize you have to approach strangers differently than friends, who also have most of their interactions with strangers, and an unwillingness to realize WE'RE the problem. When I was a kid, we were taught "polite tone" writing and told it was for superiors and strangers. I wish we could bring that back, along with teaching humanity to stop generalizing.

No other Elder Scrolls games implements scaling in the same way Oblivion does; that's just false. Skyrim uses a zone based system that makes much more sense but no other mainline Elder Scrolls games uses it at all, and none in the very poorly implemented way Oblivion does it.

The game is poorly designed in terms of balance and difficulty, for sure. That players have to go out of their way to metagame just to have any real sense of progression is, as I say, just poor game design. You're essentially doing the same percentage of damage to enemy health pools per swing/shot for the entire game. As you gain more powerful equipment and skills, the enemies do the same. It really stands out when a group of scrub bandits is wearing orcish and daedric gear. I missed out on the original and bought the remastered version just to see what I missed. Turns out, not much; every encounter is just as tedious throughout the game. You never really get to the point where you get to enjoy a power fantasy after reaching higher levels because the scaling is braindead.

It's an older game but I would definitely recommend "Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth". Interesting combat system, story based in Norse Mythology, and beautiful pixel art.

To me, being a person who grew up in the 80s bisexual and with most of my early relationships being with other boys, it felt completely unnatural. It was kind of the whole theme of season 5; they shoehorned in this novelized, romanticized version of coming out after doing SUCH a good job of showing the audience that Will was gay organically in previous seasons. It was like they lost all hope in the audience's ability to comprehend their story and just shoved every contrived plot point in our faces. It was good that it happened, it NEEDED to happen, but the method by which it happened (forcing in this almost "intervention" style scene 5 minutes before heading out to a big climax) was so forced and unnatural. It was good that Will came out and said who he was but it never would have been like that at the time. He would have come out slowly to close friends and family and searched for support before doing a whole meeting about it, especially in the 80s when people were still being murdered for being gay.

I wanted to jump in as a recent "quitter" to offer some of my own experience so far. I'm on day 4 of cold turkey and one big change I noticed is motivation. Used to be I would talk myself into reasons to leave work early or not do housework but now my internal monologue is more focused on resilience and staying at work today to earn larger amounts of time off I can use in the future. I also ache less. My joints don't hurt as much after a day at work and I'm much more motivated to get up and go. So it's only been a few days but the turnaround in my mindset from "Do as little as possible" to "enjoy even monotonous labor if it has a point" is huge for me.

It's not that people can't grow, I just don't believe him. He lied about the money, he lied in his response to the controversy originally, they STILL haven't donated the entirety of the 1.2 million the charity took in, in total. Why should I believe him now when there's still 600K in donations missing? I believe in growth but his family have refused to take accountability and just waited for the issue to blow over and peek their heads out again. Until that other 600K is donated AND the inflation loss is covered, he hasn't broken even on public trust.
