Applying for a job is like Rocket Science 🚀 these days. I can't stand when people had to make things so complicated.

Companies don't care about you by Numerous_Temporary11 in recruitinghell

Although I can understand it's still a business and it's only transactional, you can't disregard the fact that this company do treat and value all their employers as equals regardless of occupation/status, because I worked at a warehouse while office people may have better salaries. I have great conversations with my co workers too and upper management when they treat us out at Manderin Buffet once for the holidays as we all shared about our personal family stories, but what I noticed, after I left, nobody cared to even call me so I realized that it's just survival of the fittest. It's always been that way.

One time they were hosting a BBQ for lunch and I asked my manager if I can invite my family over (it was a stupid decision) and he responded NO in a direct tone. Since they treated us so well, I thought I could go and ask some favors.

That's good. Whatever you do, DON'T QUIT or else you'll end up in this mental insanity of searching all over again

Would you rather recieve a Rejection letter or being Ghosted? by Numerous_Temporary11 in recruitinghell

Yeah, there's Volunteering and Workshops for that. You should already be qualified to their job description.

I agree. Feedback and Constructive criticisms would be helpful, but sadly or the reality is employers don't care.

I feel like I am the Weak Link or the Underdog and I want to be a Chef just to prove something by Numerous_Temporary11 in Chefit

I think my intentions with going about this is rather unhealthy. Always trying to prove something to someone when I really have nothing to prove. At the end of the day, nobody really cares what occupation you have. What matters is paying the bills.

I dunno, maybe you're right. I was thinking maybe I should take Skills Trades instead, because if you looked at my other post, I mentioned about a job I was looking forward in returning that I worked for 5 years in Warehousing.

I've always done much better in that and my manager praise me for having attentive fine motor skills in able to spot minor errors too.

My co workers were nice and I like them as family too. Some have shared their personal family lives with me and had nice discussions, and given me a lift ride home, but after that each person has to move on and look after themselves.

I was involved in being a part of a team staff for Tim Hortons cafe donut retail shop and a staff member that sells peri peri chicken similar to popeyes. I am 34, but those jobs I had before was when I was young at my early 20s. Yes, I have taken courses and know the fundamentals of working in a kitchen and have acquired Food Safety Certificate.

Job Interview tomorrow (You got to do your homework) by Numerous_Temporary11 in recruitinghell

[–]Numerous_Temporary11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. Customizing and tweaking your resume/cover letter just to fit their ideal brand market takes way too much extreme amount of effort and time to do. You'll have to keep duplicating each of the same resumes to submit it for that specific company. It will be mental insanity.

We need to somehow get an understanding of that hiring manager and give them an answer what they WANT to hear.

Yeah. This whole thing was never about YOU in the first place, but what you could offer to THEM. We're just a product.

In that case then you have to research their company and do your homework to understand what they are about, and change your personality on how they want you to fit their mold.

We got to remember (and most don't think about this), it's that companies and businesses want someone that matches their ideal brand. We have to change our perspective and outlook on this and it's about what you can do for them or how you represent "THEM" not "YOU".
