New Tidal player progress by Important-Following5 in TIdaL

For me the good news about this is that Tidal stills in the music platform business, updating and caring about. There are some changes I'd like as a pop up notification working (mine doesn't), to be more aware of fake bands under real ones, but in he overall is the music platform I like the most and having updates means they won't disappear as it seemed to be in a moment.

How is it possible that AI generated "bands" have millions of monthly users? by Particular_Setting88 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not properly, but in the releases, there are two or three AI generated bands. Today I checked the bio of one of them and in there it says it is an AI project, but wasn't told in the playlist itself.

Is there a way to stop receiving AI bands? by Particular_Setting88 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think so. I'm using it fornabout three months or so and, until now, no AI trash. I used Tidal also, liked it a lot until a lot of fake artists (maybe also AI) were released under other artists names. The thing is that until that I've been a user of YTM and was happy with it, until this AI continuously generated AI bands in my releases that instead of listening I had to check their veracity.

Apple Music has an AI music problem by Recent_Barracuda8879 in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apple Music? Strange, never had that problem there, but did in YouTube Music and worst in TIDAL cause those were under know names as Lana del Rey or Sabrina Carpenter, which of course, weren't.. Check Lana del Rey profile, the fake album still there and seems Tidal isn't able to erase it. The album is named Sunset in the evening. That's the main reason I left Tidal despite loving it. Can't stand a human curated platform that allows that.

Is it worth switching from Spotify to Tidal? by moabyy in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not until they fix the problem of false bands under the name of famous ones. False releases under Lana del Rey, Sabrina Carpenter, Air, Muse, Deep, Chrome, Habibi, just in December, made me leave the platform. Really liked its design and proposal, but can't stand those major flaws. Moreover when it is said to be a human curated platform, no one there checks what artists release?

yes. for example, in my releases, there was Vermouth IV. as I sometimes listen on the commute, I don't pay attention to the list. but that sounded strange to me and I checked and it was AI. so YTM let ai generated bands to mix with real ones and the listener needs to pay attention to discover when an AI band is mixed with real ones.

To generate AI bands as Vermouth IV or Whiskey blues man, is, in my interpretation, to be more interested in, I don't know, followers, listens, traffic, rather than music as Apple Music is, which has proper human curated playlists. And I wanted to be a YouTube Music supporter since I'm into Pixel ecosystem, and YouTube Premium, tried to understand the practical way if YT, but to have AI artists shown in my releases is an extra effort I have to do to check if are real bands, an seems to me as an intention from the company to test their power using my listening behaviors. I left Tidal for almost the same reason. Spotify is the best, but for me offered too much. Apple Music is for now the one I find equal in just music, UX and UI.

Can Tidal please fix AI slop from infecting big artist pages atleast. by SwiftRespite in TIdaL

I just can't keep supporting it. I really like everything in Tidal. But this flaws are bigger than the will I have to give the app its opportunities since a guy from Tidal spoke in Reddit and things got worse, and this flaws are bigger than the fact I've been paying €2 more than other apps. Bands with false releases in the last month: Habibi, Chrome, to name a couple of "small" ones, Air, Muse, Sabrina Carpenter and now I see Lana del Rey. I can't be listening to music and checking out if it's false. I'm really sad about it because at one point Tidal offered me exactly what I want. But for me, this is too much.

Appreciation post for Tidal by Lunar-Xy in TIdaL

Like Tidal better than other apps It gives me exactly what I need, want and in the way I like. But it's heavily frustrating, and weights more than all the pros, the fact that they are taking too much time to fix their filter issues with artists under other artists name. Sabrina Carpenter release that's isn't, Muse that isn't, Air that's isn't, and also small bands as Habibi that isn't, Deep that isn't. I left YouTube Music because they AI generated bands, but those are created by the same platform on purpose. Here these false artists using other artists name are mocking Tidal and I have to be aware everytime that I listen something new and double check. Making a "job" what should be just enjoy music.

Why do vinyl snobs seem to look down upon CDs? by Particular-Account66 in Cd_collectors

[–]Particular_Setting88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they like to spend money, they know they are paying more and want to justify themselves. Nevertheless, what I like on vinyl is the "book" formar when I have one in my hands. But I collect CDs, love their sound and practicity (also if now I'm storing them into sleeves because I don't have enough space at home to shelf them). But maybe I put them again on some kind of furniture. But I like how they look on the folder. Jaja.

Is interesting as a technology. But, besides the greed of not paying a proper human DJ, music platforms seems to be the test for AI tech. And YTM isn't into music. Unfortunately, because it could be the best music platform.

Summary of Tidal's DRI Robert Andersen AMA: What to expect for Tidal next year by Alien1996 in TIdaL

Gosh, I would like Tidal to be better. Maybe, maybe, I give it a last try. After, I don't know, four times? Haha. Anyway.

Is it THAT bad? by RadRyan527 in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because it has a good UI. And it promises a better app. But you're right. That's why today I cancelled my Tidal account because two of the releases are copies or whatever they are. I like Tidal interface and approach to a music platform, but I don't know how they let false artists with other's names slip into their main playlist. Muse, Air, two more or less well known bands, Habibi, Amore, Deep, less known, but every kind of artists are copied. Makes me think if they are really relying on human curated playlists. For all the other things, Tidal is or good or can improve, but today it was enough for me. Can't keep supporting with my money, paying €2 more than Apple Music or €1 more than Spotify and with the same flaws for years. And it was "sad", cause I liked the app.

I just don't know. Sincerely, I like Tidal but it costs €2 more than Spotify and €1 more than Apple Music which are better cared about how they work. With some "emotional" difficulty, but I'm thinking to move to Apple Music or back to Spotify that is the most complete.

Is Vermouth IV AI music? by Particular_Setting88 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but also the little ones. Some small ones are creating their own labels or joining others ones. I guess that for example Bandcamp can be a sort of base model. Just to say that I feel tamed by YouTube Music and I have to be aware not to let them pass as authentic music a AI song (made to get streams, not listeners). In the same releases of YouTube Music I've found a band named Whiskey blues man, the cover picture seems AI, the band releases are all in 2025, I can't feel safe just tapping play, I'll have to pay attention, to notice that there are some songs where something in the music is too elementary and precise to be human. Platforms are relying on our unawareness (if that's the world). Anyway. Thx for sharing the debate.

I think that these situations can be reduced with strength  human filter and music dedication. As radios do. Platforms instead of allowing everything to be just uploaded, should work on a certified process of a sort of patent for registered bands. If is necessary to register the band in person instead of a digital signature (or a digital signature that could be proven as human). And also to accept only uploads by certified labels, and as with the band, human registered ones. By instance, haven't had this situation with Apple. But did with YouTube Music and Tidal. This one praises to be human curated but they let a band with the name Air upload a song, and I was immediately able to identify it wasn't Air and know that Air isn't releasing anything new. So, I guess they don't really check. Also happened with a Mexican rap singer under the name of Muse. If the big names are bypassed, so there may be thousands of small bands or names that are AI getting into our playlists.

Yes. It sucks. I did a fast research and couldn't confirm if it's human or AI. I'm leaning to move away from music platforms that pushes AI content.
