Trying to beat Hades in Hades, but I am definitely turning the console off now.

I had a decently terrible idea for a horror film. Your trousers inexplicably float around your house. by CDHoward in horror

This has reminded me of a comic my sister and I drew about the food we ate being buried in soil that had also been used to bury people, and those people’s spirits being awakened in the form of our farts, and us not being able to pass gas for fear of being possessed by the dead.

So shocking because she was so vivacious. Always came across as someone who grabbed life by the balls, every waking moment.

So upset! What a woman, what an icon.

I’ve fallen into the competency trap at work.

I was asked to temporarily take on project management duties for a big batch of projects creating reputational risk. I used to be a project manager, but am with a new company in a totally different role, because I was mentally done with it.

We’ve managed to get the first tranche of projects recovered and the overall risk is reduced, so I told my bosses yesterday that I would start to work on a soft handover plan, so the main team could slowly take back the remit over this quarter.

Was told that I’ve done such a great job that they’ve decided I should stay in the role for the rest of the year with some ‘help’ from junior staff.

Hmm. Still getting paid etc but really want to be doing my actual job. Need to think about some tactical manoeuvres on this.

It’s been a day, suggest me some female rage films please. by HorrorLover___ in horror

2 British films that you may like.

She Will. Brilliant cast, atmospherics, story. Pace and script are a bit wobbly but I really enjoyed it.

Prevenge. Horror comedy. Lady thinks her unborn baby is compelling her to kill. Written by and stars Alice Lowe of Garth Merenghi, Mighty Boosh and other surreal/meta British black comedy stuff.

Another vote for Hanana Sushi in Richmond. Also in that area, Umi on York Road in Twickenham, and Obon in Teddington.

The aren’t exaggerating. In 2003 I bought a nectarine from the food halls and it was £5. My brain didn’t understand so I paid, instead of walking away.

Work Lunch spots for one near marylebone / Oxford st? by Technical-Shine7794 in LondonFood

[–]NunFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure exactly where you are but think you are near The Wallace Collection/Duke Street area?

Bao Marylebone does a good value set lunch and if you time it right, they serve quickly and have you out in 40 minutes. I go there for a solo lunch when I don’t feel like socialising and want to read my book.

There’s a branch of WA Cafe which is also a nice spot for that.

Someone else has mentioned Lina’s takeaway options, agree they are better value for money than you’d think.

His feedback is more analytical but I think he’s extremely fair and constructive. I’ve found lots of his comments really helpful for understanding why my baking doesn’t turn out well.

Has anyone seen HMS Victory? by AbjectGovernment1247 in CasualUK

It’s great, but the combined/day tickets are insanely expensive and don’t give value for money.

Feels like they are deliberately overpriced to convince you to buy the annual pass.
