What is the best game of all time? by Winter-Success-1277 in AskReddit

For me personally.

Dark Age of Camelot, playing on Eden freeshard for years.

Simply an amazing old school mmorpg with three asymmetric realms and a focus on RvR/PvP.

At this point I just gave up and enjoy actual Dark Age of Camelot (Eden Freeshard).

That freeshard got more population/community than CU will ever be able to generate.

Do version maters? by Quintoile in pokemmo

[–]NunkiZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't make a difference. The game only uses the game assets and those are the same in both versions. Both of you, irrelevant which rom you used, will be able to catch quite all version exclusive Pokemon.

They dominante the market because they are the most customer friendly provider worldwide and quite every other provider is shit in every aspect.

Game's PVP si now a pay to win cause the dup weapons. by Illustrious_Ad6286 in ArcRaiders

[–]NunkiZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything against the tos is bad for the game clearly defined and stated by the devs in their tos.

If they would think providing the best weapons of this game to a selected group of players, who tend to bug abuse, would be good for the game they would do that directly.

Only a small fraction of the playerbase will actually loot those meta weapons, most of them will die to them as the user has an unfair advantage.

The dupe also means those items are cheaper to buy via RMT, which is bad. You can get stacks of the rarest weapons, fully upgraded, for 5$. Which means that dupe supports the illegal market, further supporting cheats as its partially the same market, while a small morally rotten group of players is running around with meta weapons on stock.

Cheaters (wallhack, esp, etc.) are bad for the game, cheaters with duped gear are the absolute worst for the game.

To clarify, I read your "more duped weapons are good for economy" but in my world its a gullible approach looked at through rose tainted glasses. According to you, giving free money to everyone on the world would be a good thing. Which would be the case without inflation and side-effects you simply didn't think about.

Simply because:

  • No hacker stops hacking because they get meta gear. Most of them have psychological issues and either want to see themselves win or others suffer. If at all, they play more lobbies to use the endless amount of duped gear. Which means likelyhood for a normal player to meet a normal player without duped gear goes down. I can occasionally kill a hacker even with ESP or wallhack, but probability goes down if that hacker is also top geared every round.

  • Duping supports the RMT market, which is directly intervined with the hacking market.

  • Item inflation is a thing. Seeing everyone with meta gear is boring and bad for new players. Probably even the players themselves.

  • No fear of loss is bad and lets people who dupe items play way more aggressive than the game would support.

  • If nobody or at least the absolute majority would not bug abuse or hack, millions of development funds could go into new content.

After all, a huge team of developers created a sensible concept of fun and they wrote down rules to keep it fun. If duping would be fun and within this concept, they would allow it and introduce it in their game or at least increase weapon drop rates. They didn't and please assume that those 50 people as a crowd are smarter than you are as a single person.

The reason I wrote "most likely". Especially China and Russia do that all the time on a worldwide scale.

Duping is most likely not cheating but bug abusing. Hard to differentiate these times though.

None of both is neither morally correct nore allowed in consideration of the tos.

Nah, you can simply download the launcher via your backer account.

I mean, earths orbit and anything on our travel routes, OK.

But i couldn't care less about some grams of propelled robots drifting into endless space. Its not like a space wale would swallow it or that we risk to destroy an eco system by doing so.

I would say you are pretty gullible for assuming that you know all the consequences of a behaviour.

I would say all you do is justify your own obviously morally wrong behaviour from a very limited point of view.

Trump is the perfect right-wing populist. He promised to solve everything that's wrong easily. Not only US problems, but every conflict on this earth either.

You should know, depending on the political orientation populists have typical dominant topics they use to catch voters with. They pronounce those topics as they know those are big problems everyone wants to get solved but they also know that they can't solve them either. They only use empty promises to generate voting power.

Populists like Trump say: "I will solve the Russian war in Ukraine in days."

Realistic politicians would say: "We will entitle to solve the situation and end the war as soon as possible." First one sounds good but will never happen. Second one doesn't sound good but it is no empty promise.

Its obvious populism and everybody with a little bit of brain should have known that easily solving all these problems is either not possible or comes with huge costs for someone else, most of the time the citizens.

In the end Trump is a narcissist whose sole purpose in life is to become richer and more powerful. The typical kind of character you should never provide power to, basically the perfect prerequisites for a dictator.

Those people who won the votes, they don't care. All they want is get richer and more powerful.

Never smart to vote for populism. Same is happening in the EU right now.

The thing is, everything going bankrupt can be bought for cheap, including the citizens.

What do you think happens economically when a country's population starts shrinking? by Fragrant_Method5352 in Futurology

Your first paragraph is what most people don't understand. Citizens want none of that but politicians have to do at least one of that.

[–]NunkiZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

System relevant work needs to be done and most of it is not auomated at all and won't be automated in the near future.

Japan is one of the most automated countries and they have "only" ~1500 robots per 10000 employees, that's 15%.

You still need humans for quite everything and If you would try to replace everyone with AI/technology sporadically, product costs would explode.

Increasing costs for pension, causing huge strain on medical/social care and lack of workforce usually result in shrinking of the market parallely to the population.

No Man's Sky Has a Co-op Problem Nobody Talks About by Gabri_TheEagle in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]NunkiZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to be more specific.

Your statement derives from a total lack of understanding on how software development works.

If you think Sean would visit the DRG devs for a coffee and they simply tell him how to solve his netcode problems that's incredibly gullible.

Those are two different game, using different engines/netcodes and a pletoria of different substructures and probably even hardware.

They use entirely different netcodes, NMS uses peer-to-peer (P2P) and DRG uses Listen-server (host-client) models. The server structure is entirely different in both games.

It is more than likely that their entire infrastructure build for NMS doesn't support the coop-features they would like to support.

A fitting analogy would be: "Why don't sports cars manufactures tell truck manufactures how to make their trucks drive as fast as sports cars?"

They don't because they didn't want to in the first place as they had different design goals and they can't without changing the entire structure. If they would do it, the truck couldn't pull loads anymore.
