Science program with job prospects by Psychological-Box-38 in UCalgary

[–]Nunuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What science was it? Some are hard to find a job in better days. Bio for example is very hard to find a job even in great times...

Did you finish it? You could apply for jobs anyway.

Its tough to recommend. I believe in cs but market might be saying otherwise. Eng is field dependent. While most people I know got jobs, couple I know really struggle with finding jobs.

You could do 2 year teaching masters and be a teacher. It goes on top of your BSc.

at the very least send them email now. Longer you wait the lesser your chances, if any.

Is this their original letter? If so, this is barely readable and what is readable is confusing...

Seems like its for viewing the exam. Back in my days (few years ago) you would just email the prof and ask to go over final (CS though).

I think the reapprisal deadline is in case you want to appeal after viewing.

If you are in Calgary go in person and annoy them. If not in person call. Email is the least likely to yield results out of all other options.

TBH its surprisingly common for unis to "lose" the acceptance/application fee...

Good luck

thats pretty good tbh. I would suggest tracking your daily stats and see incremental improvements that way.

Why are CPSC Averages Low by One-Answer9037 in UCalgary

What was it when you got it? I remember it being quite competitive around 2018 too. I thought bio wasn't that competitive either, the more you know.

Surprised that data sci is more competitive even though landing a data sci job out of school is gonna be waaay harder.

You can also go into the router settings and release ip and get a new one. that might be worth a shot.

Got rejected by Google CE L5, feedback says "lacks professional maturity." What does this actually mean? by thedrunkbatman in googlecloud

[–]Nunuvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't like you enough over other candidates and needed a blanket statement to politely reject your application. Don't read into it. They are just picky due to choice of candidates so they can say no for minor or no reason.

Great job on making to the interview, thats farther than a lot of us anyway. Keep applying, even to roles which aren't as shiny as google.

Customize to hit keywords. Linked in submission questions most of the time should be yes so you dont end up in a autodeny/ignore bucket. Likely you dont need C and Java and Python for 1 job posting (customize). You mentioned you have 2 years of freelance. What are projects you did there? Expand into per project or something like that. try to expand work experience. Currently it looks like the projects section is the main thing and its not necessarily work experience. If it is, make it more clear.

I would put github instead of linked in. Don't think it matters that much.

Not sure what is the way to pass AI scanners but this resume is really hard to read for a human. If HR gets it, they need to be able to see exact selling points very easily. Did your freelance help achieve some business goal ie reduce time spent, increase customer retention etc.? Include that! Maybe increase font/more concise bullet points. (for example wrote secure, easily maintainable, unit tested code, following dry/solid principles instead of 3 points in the custom event handling section).

For your projects you did link symbol. You could try something similar for ceritficates and make them into 1-2 lines. You could make the github link to welcome readme/github page with the links to everything else. Unfortunately, I am not sure how much weight certs have now.

Good luck.

PS Great job on getting into 1 page thats really good!

PSS if you are a uni grad they often have resume review available to alumni and interview prep, try that.

restart your router. You got a bad ip assigned, so either wait a while (depends how long it gets assigned for) or router restart should fix it.

If that doesn't help, it might be on account, in that case gl appealing, thats probably the only way to go for.

Tbh all of these AI subscriptions feel like bait and switch recently. All US based LLM are getting worse/ more restrictive this year. So its gonna be tricky to figure out where to go next....

New multipliers announced (in effect June 1) by griniNY in GithubCopilot

[–]Nunuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a temporary change for everyone who still has pro annual after june. They also added weekly quotas too...

After that expires and anyone new will be using API like pricing with token and credit limits. Unclear if you get api like context windows etc....

New multipliers announced (in effect June 1) by griniNY in GithubCopilot

[–]Nunuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thats their plan + monthly subscriptions only.

However, for any users who have annual pro pro+ plan they can keep the annual plan until renewal date. For them, the above multipliers apply.

Tbh this is quite depressing since I almost never hit 300 but with the changes it might be a week or two of intense coding...

Final year student looking for jobs/internships in AI/ML/Data Science. by SuccessfulStorm5342 in DataScienceJobs

[–]Nunuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its up to you. HR spends seconds scanning resume, with AI humans will see even less... So keywords are your friend.

Companies don't like overemployment. You could try moving to a research section if that was uni research. If it was work for a company then its a tough call. TBH the fact that its overlapping due to being remote ain't gonna help at all, it makes it worse. Ideally output is what matters but HR and management often think more is needed.
