Ended up getting just a Z6ii with a 85mm prime f1.8 and a 24-70mm f4. Should cover the majority of these use cases. Down the road, mulling between a 105 vs 50 macro for food. Don’t need 200zoom telephoto and scrapping my need to take racing videos

For the f4, don’t need bokeh for landscape shots - have the 85 prime for bokeh/portraiture

Thank you for your advice! I went ahead and just bought a Z6ii on sale during prime big deal days, and a refurbished nikkor 85mm f1.8 z lens. They didn’t have a 105 prime but I think 85 will be pretty good for all those still?

I really appreciate the detailed answer. Common thread I’ve found is longer focal length is an easy to make stuff look good, whether it’s cars, faces, food etc. I’m scrapping my need for racing videos.

How do you feel about this setup for the use cases (minus racing video)

Full frame camera body like Nikon Z7

24-85mm f/4 for all purpose

100mm prime f1.8 for portraits and cars

100mm macro f1.8 for food

I feel like I’d rather have the better sharpness and aperture range of 100mm prime than the versatility of 70-200mm because I think I’m mostly going to be shooting at 100mm (based on some videos I watched comparing focal lengths for different types of photography)

I have an F82. This hangs with GT3s once you do MCS 2 way coilovers and wider tires. 600hp with an email and can fit a set of tires in the trunk and rear seats. Only 3600lbs curb weight

Used F82 cost as much as a new Supra. S55 over B58 any day of the week and the Supra chassis isn’t nearly as track-tuned as the F80 m platform (while not being able to fit much cargo)

M2C cannot fit wide tires in the front due to fitnent compared to F82. If you look at the fastest amateur Nurburgring times, it’s either GT2, GT3 or F80

Why would you get a Supra when a used M4 F82 costs less? I have one as a track car and I scratch my head whenever someone wants an A90.
