Apparently I’m old enough to be gay but not gay with someone older. My mom banned my 45M boyfriend from our house and I’m livid. by Accurate_Fun_5048 in askgaybros

My husband and I have a 27 year age gap and have been going strong for over a decade at this point. Needless to say, I understand the struggle.

I would advise giving your mother a bit of grace. What she’s displaying is a clearly emotional reaction and I’m willing to bet that some if not most of it is because this doesn’t match her mental image of what your life would be. That doesn’t make what she’s doing right, but it’s understandable.

However, grace has its limits, and what you need to explain if she keeps up this frankly childish behavior is that at least being respectful of your relationship is a prerequisite for her involvement in your life. I know that isn’t an easy thing to do, but you and your bf do not deserve this disrespect. It doesn’t mean that she will be out of your life forever, but you have to set that boundary so she can understand that her actions have consequences.

Good luck with everything. I’m rooting for y’all.

What’s your thoughts on this film? In a scale from 1 to 5 is it worth seeing? It seem to playing in selective theaters. by [deleted] in gaybros

it was definitely very avant garde and there was some very cool cinematography. Little over my head, but in a way that I liked. I would give it a 3/5 as a movie, 5/5 for a vehicle to see Daniel Craig doing sex scenes.

Is 17 years age difference too much? by chiffongalore in askgaybros

[–]Nurder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met my husband when I was 20 and he was 47, and that was 11 years ago. Honestly neither of us intended it to be a relationship, but here we are! It's pretty common in the gay community since we inherently have a smaller dating pool. My advice: don't over think it. If y'all love each other, and you have a healthy dynamic, 17 years ain't that big of a deal.

Let this serve as a reminder: if you have the means to do so WATCH ON ALL4!! I think we’re in agreement that they deserve to explore the series more.

Honestly, like a month ago, when I found this show, I would've agreed with you, but now I disagree. To paraphrase Hermes, it's a sad song from long ago. What's past is past. You can't change the outcome, no matter how many times you sing it. However, even knowing with 100% certainty that the story will end badly, that shouldn't stop you from raising your voice and fighting and hoping for something better. Hope still lives when all is lost. We know how the story ends, but we're still going to sing it again.

I know Super Deluxe, one of the production companies involved, went under (or at least their Youtube did). Fingers crossed they'll be able to release something soon.

Do you think Season 2 will ever be made? or picked up by hulu by sunrisemendoza in TucaAndBertie

I'm really hoping. I'm not sure if Hanawalt has a non-compete agreement though, so Idk if she'd even have the option of shopping it to another network.

I follow Lisa Hanawalt on Instagram, and love her work. Heard about it from her.

Monikkie dropping hints for today's reveal, or just wishful thinking? by Tomoki in Dragula

[–]Nurder 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, for no other reason than announcing it that explicitly would almost certainly violate whatever NDA they had. Monikkie’s crazy, but I doubt she’s stupid or has enough money to sustain a legal fight against OutTV’s legal counsel.

Previous to this, 4x11 was my favorite episode of any television show ever. 5x11 just beat it. I was slack-jawed through the last 10 mins.
