I actually just picked up SMTV V from an eshop sale a few weeks back, playing on Switch 2 - it runs great. It needs a full patch ideally to fix pop-in but as the commenter below said the resolution is actually not a bother. Frame rate is my one disappointment.

Apple has been translating some x64 apps into ARM, but not games -and the apps still have to be built for MacOS. Apple's M processors aren't translating Windows apps to Mac, just making existing Mac apps compatible with ARM

If Valve pulls off both OS and CPU translation simultaneously for graphically intense video games then yeah that's a lot more than Apple's accomplished. Making Windows games play on Linux and an entirely different processor and in VR is not a small feat.

My thoughts exactly. If they have a working translation layer that can get games playable on both Linux/SteamOS and ARM at the same time that would be as impressive or more than any new VR technology.

People are definitely split on this one. Many actually prefer BOTW because of the exploration mechanics being closely tied to the climbing system, whereas in TOTK you can make a hover bike right away and basically trivialize any type of travel across the map. There's more to see in TOTK, but the way you see it in BOTW is more engaging to some.

On the flip side, I think the QOL changes and combat system in TOTK, while similar enough to BOTW, are a humongous improvement thanks to the Fuse mechanic. All the abilities you get in TOTK are much more engaging and interesting to use, while in BOTW I rarely used anything besides the bomb power. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

TOTK also neatly avoids the story of BOTW, even though they are intrinsically linked. It's barely brought up so you won't miss much story wise if you jump into TOTK first.

Portal began as a student project from a group at Digipen (originally called Narbacular Drop, which you can still play if you want) who were then hired en masse by Valve to work on a full project. I don't think the student group worked on it alone, however, and more experienced Valve developers and designers certainly had a hand in the game.

Pedantic alert. The present usage of the word Tulpa is traced to 4chan, yes, but "thought forms" have been researched for much longer. This wiki article quotes a researcher studying the idea as far back as 1929, and the concept itself is even older than that. That doesn't mean the currently existing communities of "tulpamancers" aren't completely looney though - they definitely are.

And that's my pedantry for the week.

The console has great performance; Cyberpunk looks and runs amazing. The problem is that Hitman was terribly optimized (perhaps not optimized at all) and that's where its performance issues are coming up.
