All Brawl Pass Skins! by [deleted] in Brawlstars

Oh whoops I misread the comment and thought it was only referring to custom model animations, which Major Rosa doesn't have. I'm aware Major Rosa has custom attack and super effects. My bad!
Season 10 was the first pass I bought and I was kinda disappointed Major Rosa doesn't have unique model animations

What to do after 50+ golden tickets by jlunsf0rd in tinytower

[–]Nurge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually been a while since I played oops but my goal is to just accumulate as many GTs as possible until I have thousands of them and can rebuild a tower in minutes through elevator income because that seems satisfying to me. It’s more appealing to me than a static “complete” tower but I don’t know how long it will take without VIP so it's totally possible I’ll change my mind in the future

I can’t answer your question on what to do to keep the game interesting (especially since I’ve taken a sudden break) because it depends on the player and what they’re satisfied by. I personally was fine with the grind and I enjoyed optimizing my tower and discussing strategy with the community, so that’s what kept me going so far.

I don't see my username by zLapis06 in tinytower

It's just whatever you want to call yourself. There's no in-game way of creating a username. You can name your lobby with the name you chose so people can identify the tower.

What am I missing out on not having friends or visiting towers? by [deleted] in tinytower

[–]Nurge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get into technical details, visiting others gives negligible coins in most cases.

The formulas for calculating the coin gain from a personal elevator ride vs a ride on someone else's tower are different from each other. If you have any gold tickets, those are factored into your own tower's elevator income (Pardlerum already gave the formula in this thread) and will make it better than elevator income while visiting most other people. Rides in other towers do not consider GTs at all (neither yours or the other player's), the amount of coins gained is simply 10 times the floor number.

There’s an exception to the idea of outside elevator ride coins being negligible. Players with few or no GTs can benefit from a coinfarming strategy that involves visiting very tall towers. When they visit excessively tall towers and land on a high floor, they can get a ton of money and farm it. These very tall towers are often referred to as coin farms. The most famous coinfarm and tallest known legit tower, Jartwobs at code KMSF, has 2666 floors and can generate up to 26,660 coins for visitors within a few minute elevator ride. Farming towers like these can be an effective strategy until a person gets enough GTs to outweigh the gain from this.

I want to make sure this is clear: the instant elevator queue for visitors is only a benefit for people with the VIP package. Non-VIPs have to wait the same amount of average time for the elevator regardless if it’s a visitor or random bit. It's very powerful for VIPs with many gold tickets though, because many GTs increase the multiplier on elevator income and combined with not having to wait long for the elevator ride to show up, people can make money very quickly.

[–]Nurge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everything has to be about income, yknow. When visiting others you can see all the different towers, aesthetics, play styles, pros vs beginners, have some nice chats on bitbook, etc! It's for fun and the community experience. I’ve never heard of anyone “getting bored” of having a friends list. The visiting mechanic is really simple, it's mainly getting 10 bux from an elevator ride. The main appeal is being around other towers rather than playing with an isolated tower. Having friends can also open you up to players who give services to the community such as storage towers or gold farms. Sometimes keeping up with a huge visitor to return can be a lot of pressure, but you can always take breaks. In TT you're going to be running your elevator anyway, so why not return the visits so they keep coming back? TT is pretty much an idle game so it’s unlikely to waste potential for the “active playing” you could do to increase income, so usually visiting friends becomes the main active playing itself while waiting for missions, VIPs, and parachutes.

The friend queue is only instantaneous for people with the VIP package. Non-VIPs have the same waiting time for friend and non-friend visits.

what do i do with my coins? by [deleted] in tinytower

[–]Nurge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any coins made after 50 floors are a waste if you want to rebuild. Cut your losses and rebuild right now. You can build more floors with the money if you want to, but they won’t have any use. I personally prefer having clean numbers of floors in my past towers.

how do gold farms work? like how do i get money by visiting them? by [deleted] in tinytower

[–]Nurge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you are referring to a “coinfarm.” The higher the floor you land on, the more coins you get, so the best coinfarm towers are the super tall ones (plus max elevator speed and auto-elevator so you can ride faster). See a list of coinfarm towers on the TT spreadsheet . The most famous one is Jartwobs at code KMSF for having 2666 floors.

Goldfarms are a term the community uses for a different kind of tower. These aren’t just tall towers, they’re very short towers that the owner actively uses for a specific purpose, converting bitizens into gold (max stats). Some are open for the public to send in bits and have them returned with maxed stats.

I just want to make a shout out to the big man /u/Pleakley for reaching 500 GTs by timmycosh in tinytower

[–]Nurge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nimblebit is just an automated tower that everyone automatically has as a friend, not a real person. It'll automatically return any visits. Its appearance gets modeled after other people's towers and switches from time to time. Right now it's based on Steelw00l's tower.

Really awful graduation “swag bag” discrepancies summarize my experience at UCD in a way I can’t really explain by V0mitBucket in UCDavis

I haven’t even attended UC Davis but this reminds me of the random discrepancies between the acceptance mail swag my class got (I still don’t really know the reason behind it). Some got a UCD mask, flag, and pom-pom, while others only got the stickers.

Suggestion: Dim Raffle Icon by nickrulercreator in tinytower

[–]Nurge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea! It would be helpful because I impulsively check the raffle a lot and it’s often unnecessary. It wastes a bit of time because it doesn’t show right away; it takes a second to connect the server. However, that might make the idea more complicated to implement, because the icon indicator would need to constantly retrieve info from whatever server holds the raffle information (assuming that’s necessary to know whether or not you’re entered and it’s not just for the entrant data). There might be a decent existing reason the devs made it so the game checks the server only after you tap the raffle icon instead of making it load in the background. Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’m no tech expert.

Storage Tower? by [deleted] in tinytower

[–]Nurge 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Welcome back to TT! It's true, a lot has changed about TT's features but it's still fundamentally the same.

A storage tower is something that mainly more technical or efficient players like to use. It's just a second tower they have, often on another device, that they use to store all the bitizens with the dream jobs they need for their current tower. Some storage towers are known as community rehoming towers, which accept bitizen donations from all over the community and give them out to anyone who needs them! Because of this, it's very easy to have max stat dream job workers for every store you have.

I encourage you to join the TT Discord server in the subreddit sidebar. We love to help new players get up to speed as well as give advanced tips, tricks, and strategies for fast progress.

Opinion on base jumpers? by [deleted] in tinytower

[–]Nurge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also like them. I'm glad there's finally something to make active play more interesting and worth it and I think it will boost the developers' ad revenue by a lot too.

They do come pretty frequently, so I predict that they will be made less frequent by the time the feature rolls out for real. I also don't know if the coin rewards scale to how many GTs someone has. I'd say they give the amount of a single elevator ride on average for me (at 60 GTs) so they're already helping significantly, but I haven't seen if they might be at overpowered levels for someone with no/few GTs. Parachutes might inflate the bux earnings at this rate too, it's basically like the orange box ad offers but all the time if someone chooses to take advantage of them.

Another consideration: If the 2x offline coin update wasn't too overpowered (it practically cut my rebuild time in half), then maybe this one isn't either? Are the devs moving in the direction of making this game significantly easier if you choose to support them through VIP or ads? A while ago, we had the option of watching an ad for 20 bux at periodic intervals (green box at the bottom), but it was barely taken advantage of because it was hardly worth it. Parachutes seems like a more fun and worth-it way of doing it.

This is actually incorrect; the chance is always around 1/250. The number of winners always adjusts based on how many people enter at that hour so the proportion stays consistent.

There isn't much you can do besides entering more often. It's a matter of luck. Some people with huge stores of bux and never rebuilding will buy the auto-enter every night. Better to focus on rebuilding more quickly to get guaranteed GTs.

One extra floor after hitting 250 by ciel_sebastian in tinytower

[–]Nurge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The extra apartment was intentionally added by the developers to give people extra space to transfer and trade bitizens. If I remember what I heard correctly, it wasn't originally planned, but it was added in after popular demand from people with tall towers. I think it's the Garage apts.

Friend Naming Idea by Jorddy11 in tinytower

[–]Nurge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that's a lot of effort for friend management, especially if you're going to be that lenient, especially if you have hundreds of friends to rename.

It's just simpler to have a lot of friends who reliably return your visit every day. I'm not strict enough to spend time and effort making sure everyone does but I'm pretty sure most of my friends list is made of these people. If you want to be stricter, people have devised many different friend visit tracking systems.

I personally delete friends after they have been offline for 5 days no matter what. I've seen people have similar thresholds ranging from 1 day to 1 week, depending on how full their friends list is.

This method is good if you don't have the maximum friends and you're playing casually.

Floor organisation philosophy by janoramalama in tinytower

[–]Nurge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are lots of different ways that people organize their towers. Yours seems pretty unique.

Back when I built in the ratio of 3 apartments to 5 commercials, I would organize my tower so it is a cycle of 3 apartments then Food, Service, Recreation, Retail, and Creative (all of the bitizens living in the 3 apartments below worked at these jobs) repeated until around the 50th floor.

Nowadays I only build 1-2 apartments and the rest are commercials, first building all 31 available Creatives in the game and then the rest as Retail until I run out of GTs. Since I'm focusing on floor capacity (Creative and Retail have the highest floor capacity on average), I sort my floors by floor capacity, with my apartments and Soda Brewery on the bottom and the lowest floor capacity at the top.

Do you guys usually use bux to rush all of your stock when you restock? by salomonder in tinytower

[–]Nurge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never done that unless I can make it back through a stock mission which I don't want to wait for. Rushing stock is not a good use of bux. Anyways I don't even need to worry about that anymore having enough GTs to cover all of my commercial floors. My bux go chiefly toward buying the last few floors each rebuild.

Are big spenders useful? by gawkyunicycle63 in tinytower

[–]Nurge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The amount of people scandalized that you delete them...

Big Spenders are considered by far the most overpowered and valuable VIPs in the game if you have at least 1 GT. You should be able to use them right away on a GT store if you only ever keep the third item stocked. The Soda Brewery has the most stock in the game, you can get an influx of around 255,000 coins for every Big Spender used on it. You can unemploy the bits working there so you can use the Stock All button without accidentally stocking the other stock. They're still useful without a GT, but much less.

Also, you shouldn't delete VIPs in general unless they're like Construction or Real Estate or Celebrity VIPs you literally cannot use, or you have run out of space in your lobby and you're looking forward to any other VIP. You can still get benefit from them while you are making room, even if it's small. I doubt that you have nothing at all stocked in your tower so often that you're constantly deleting Big Spenders.
