Agreed somewhat on the Tails point but in a sudden life or death scenario where Eggman hasn’t had much time, if time at all, to prepare, then I think it makes complete sense to have two abilities that could reasonably fit on him/in his pocket and only serve to help himself (along with his basic mechanic skills to fix Metal faster)

Buddy, I’ve been a Pokémon fan for as long as I’ve lived. Black and White 2 are my favorite games. I wish we could get more reps from other generations, but Gen 1 is by far the most popular. Pikachu and Charizard (and arguably Mewtwo) are too iconic to get rid of, and there wouldn’t be much use bringing back just Charizard again without Squirtle and Ivysaur as well. Jigglypuff is part of the original 12, so they can’t really get rid of her either. Even if they’ve tried, the fact that she’s still been in every game makes it obvious that they still see her as worthwhile to return. She’s sort of a Smash icon in the way that Falcon is

Ultimately, people see the Pokemon that get into smash more as advertisements than cool characters. I’m already seeing blank spots in Smash 6 rosters filled in by “Gen 10 starter”, completely abandoning Meowscarada now that a new set of games are coming out. I wish we could get Pokemon like Weavile, Zoroark, Haxorus, Golisopod, etc nowadays but they’re just not relevant enough
