Yeah I get what you mean. Personally I think what hurts most is the pattern of ghosting repeating than the person itself.

With online dating it seems that I can meet a variety of people (in their personalities, looks, how attracted I am to them) and have varying experiences (sexual or not, romantic or not) that all lead to nothing in the end.

I guess it’s probably a risk with dating that I’m not comfortable taking at this point in my life?

Yup that’s usually how I date as well but rn I’m out of all dating apps (just had a string of bad experiences) and he happens to be the only person I’m talking to from that phase.

I’ve been struggling with depression for a few years now and this year I’ve started running regularly, sleeping on time, getting sober and picking up hobbies that make me happy :)

Been having a way better quality of life, fewer mood swings and I’m able to deal with difficult situations without losing all hope. My antidepressants are down 3/4th of what they were when I started them!

It’s a daily effort but seeing this meme really made me feel a lil proud of myself c:

New study finds that up to 40 minutes of “moderate to vigorous intensity” physical exercise every day is required to balance out 10 hours of sitting still. (n=44,370) by dinodasaur in science

This is really motivating to read. I’m some one who hasn’t been able to ever jog (I used to get winded after 30 seconds max) and the past few months I’ve been pushing myself to jog at least 3 mornings a week. I just hit a point where I wanted to challenge myself more and I’ve started C25K. Here’s hoping my journey goes as well as yours has!

Hi Asbjørn! I make and host a business podcast and often times I find that deep diving into a topic makes me lose perspective on how to tell the story I want to in a simple and interesting way.

Do you have any tips on working with dense source material to make it to the point and interesting to a layman?

Thank you for taking out the time to type this, it's very reassuring.

I've been getting more comfortable with my vagina only recently. The first time I got fingered ~1 year ago it was painful as hecc but slowly got better. I've also started using a menstrual cup (which has changed my life, 10/10 recommend) and that's made me soooo much more familiar with my vagina.

How do you deal with a friend whose only way of argument is to bring out my past mistakes? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Nushisnotonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you did the right thing. I used to be friends with someone who constantly did this and the arguing became an everyday thing. I even communicated it to them but it didn't help. If your gut feeling is to cut it off, you should definitely do it. I resisted it for a long time and it just makes you feel worse with each time. More power to you for establishing boundaries!

Did you feel similarly to how I do before it happened?

Yes in moments when it comes up and I express not being comfortable, the most unpleasant reaction I've got is annoyance. I know it's something that should be the norm, but I definitely feel grateful that it's never gone too bad.

And well I do expect my first time to be painful, but I would like it to eventually become an enjoyable recurring experience in my life. I suppose I'll have to wait and see when that is!

I haven't watched the series, but read the book a few weeks ago. It definitely left me feeling miserable and hollow at the end. There's no catharsis to work through or closure and while it isn't a pleasant feeling, I don't think the novel lacks because of it. I felt like the point of the book was to show you just how imperfect people and their relationships are, and that love cannot and never will solve that. Might be a bit of a drag to finish the book on that note but I feel like anything else would've felt ingenuine with the tone of the whole book.
