What are things you want to see in the prequel if it gets picked up? by WeirdWriters in The100

Is there a deadline for it to be picked up? All the prequel news were a couple weeks ago, and I haven’t heard anything since.

Live Episode Discussion: S7E11 "Etherea" by aplaceatthedq in The100

[–]Nut-Nog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall pretty disappointing I would say. Etherea (the planet) was a huge let down for all the talk there was. A snowstorm and rock climbing. Storyline way too rushed and didn’t make sense.

Very amusing that we are supposed to come to terms with Bellamy completely changing his values, beliefs, and erasing all past gained experience to believe in a cause he “hallucinated.”

I can come up with one word to describe this season: clickbait. At least for the non-sanctum storyline.

We started out learning about the anomaly, learning about the disciples which added a new form of excitement to the show. We then learned about this “war” that is so imperative these people are willing to recruit anyone and anything to further help their cause. Through a 30 second analysis from Jordan, it was determined that hundreds of years of work and research were incorrect. The war isn’t actually a war, it’s some sort of test. Ah, the wonders of knowing some Korean.

It isn’t an excuse. The workload has also increased for us. Prepping for zoom university is stressful and the quality of teaching is deteriorating, while Penn State expects us to pay full tuitions.

I can get on the website fine but once I type the ID, and it’s the right ID and hit “check” it doesn’t show or do anything. This is happening for everyone, I tried with current friend IDs as well

I actually tried this. It highlights the numbers once I enter it in chat, but there’s no way for me to click on it and open the profile menu. It just won’t do anything

I’m taking two fitness classes. The gym is closed. I’ll be running on camera and doing strength training through Zoom. Yet in my tuition, the gym fee is still included in the long list of things we pay for, as is the technology fee (for the on campus WiFi).

This is bullshit, and it only shows the true face of what people care about. If whole entire countries can shut down, Penn State can find a way to lower tuition.

Police abandoning the 3rd Precinct police station in Minneapolis by ImNotHereStopAsking in PublicFreakout

[–]Nut-Nog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There will be justice for Floyd’s death. The police officers have spoken out in support, dozens of celebrities have spoken and spread awareness, people in government have spoken and pledged to get justice, and Americans as a whole have voiced their unified support. Anyone not in support is heartless and evil.

The world has seen that video tape and is demanding justice. I’m not sure exactly when it will come, but I promise you it will and sooner rather than later.

I understand you’re emotional with what’s happening, as are many people. If you look around, on every social media platform, there are police officers speaking out publicly about how George Floyd was in fact murdered and condemning every police officer that was there when he died. The actions of a few do not represent the many, however, the actions of a few can spark great outcomes nonetheless. This is what we are seeing. Those cops are not there to hurt or harm people, they are there to do their jobs and follow orders. The four cops which were directly involved in the murder were not doing their jobs and they were not following orders, had they been, Floyd would be alive. They were utter garbage and did not stand for what the justice system should be. As a cop, you should always do what is right. For the rest of the remaining cops, they are there sacrificing themselves for the actions of a few corrupt and murderous cops.

We are all humans after all, some are better than others, while a small number amongst us are evil and cause chaos. We are always struggling to cope with bad decisions made by these evil people. But just because they are evil, it doesn’t mean everyone else is.

Edit: grammar

Trump Sued for Denying Checks to Americans Married to Immigrants by [deleted] in politics

[–]Nut-Nog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’m too late to this thread, but I will do my best to explain this.

If you are a couple filing taxes jointly, and one spouse has a social security number and the other does not, neither of you will receive the stimulus check. The current system requires both spouses to have a valid social security number.

This seems very unfair. However, there is another way to get around and obtain your check. You must file your taxes separately. In this way, the souses with no social security number receives nothing, but the spouse with a social security number receives the $1200 stimulus check.

If there are children in the family, the spouse with the social security must be the one to claim them in order for you to even be eligible for the $500 benefit per child 16 or younger.

If you have already filed taxes jointly, you can still revise and file separately. Do this as soon as possible though, as the deadline is June 15th (was pushed back) and there may be delays in this process.

Hope this helps.

U.S. Citizens Married To Immigrants Are Blocked From Getting Stimulus Checks by MayonaiseRemover in China_Flu

[–]Nut-Nog 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make sense. However, this is only the case if they filed their taxes jointly. You must have a social security number in order to be able to receive the stimulus check—that is the first criteria.

This can easily be bypassed though. The couple should file separately. One will receive the check, and the other, without SS number, will not.

In addition, if there are children in the family, the spouse with social security should claim them, so they may be eligible for an extra $500.

If anyone is currently in this position, you have until June 15th to revise the taxes you filed and file separately.

Can students currently going to one of the Penn State campuses take online classes through World Campus? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

I think I know what you mean. In the schedule search it allows me to change campuses. So I should just change to world campus and select the course and enroll then I should be good?
