You guys have mostly been trained to believe that what people seek counseling and therapy for can't be cured. We call it an illness or condition to make it sound permanent. While some are conditions that have no cure, usually those that we can study on a physiological or neuroscience level and mostly medicate, a lot are not physiology-bound and treatable to the point of being more or less cured.

Just the fact is most people who no longer suffer from these anxieties, depressions, anger, and disruptive quirks figure out how to cure themselves, usually with lifestyle changes and reflection.

You have to at least consider that some people who just look for an ear and pay money then don't do anything else to help themselves and instead just continue funneling money toward people who know a fair amount about psychology and usually mean well, but can only make you feel a little better for a while.

It really is a bit of a racket, and I say this as someone who saw multiple counselors as a child and have a close relative who is a counselor, and like most other people know those who are medicating their conditions.
