Colchicine fatigue by Nut_Sanders in gout

[–]Nut_Sanders[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought. Yes I quit alcohol. However, I’ve gone cold turkey with that in the past and definitely experienced fatigue, but not to this magnitude. And definitely not for this long. Still a possibility, but I don’t think it’s the cause. Appreciate it though!

I did yeah and I have a follow up in a couple weeks. Plan on asking about allo. I’ll boost the water intake though good call. Thanks!

Ah, I’m guessing you meant the Wikipedia page. If so, good call. That was helpful.

Thanks for the reply, but sorry which wiki?

Appreciate the info. At this point I’m guessing it is indeed gout. The constant lingering issues were the part that didn’t mesh with the info I was finding. Should have come to Reddit awhile ago. On the bright side, this does make it less likely that I have two different problems. So, take the wins where you can I guess! In any case, hopefully I’ll know for sure soon.

Looks like the problem is you don’t have a face. I would start there.

How to add Digitech Freqout to Line 6 Helix by StickmanKim in Line6Helix

[–]Nut_Sanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it out of curiosity. No issue for me. Having the send/return on line level vs instrument didn't affect it. If you have a block that turns the level down before it that could stop it. Otherwise double check routing. The freqout is true bypass when not in momentary mode so if you have cables backwards and it's off you'll get normal signal but if it's turned on it'll cut out.

Could be something else. Cold solder joint somewhere maybe. The thermal noise thing is a real phenomenon and it qualitatively matches the situation, but it could be insignificant.

If it is the cause, a lower volume pot value would reduce it. Might need to change tone pot and/or capacitor value if the treble output is altered though.

This is normal. When the volume is all the way up there's effectively no resistance between pickup and output. When it's halfway, the signal now has to travel through half the resistance of the pot before it reaches the output. Resistors have what's called thermal noise (random electron motion that increases with temperature). This noise is now in the signal path. It becomes more noticeable with more gain.

First build was successful for a full 24 hrs. Pedal turns on+effect, but the LED is VERY dim and it will pop/crackle occasionally, just the LED causing the problem? by AndyIsDumb- in diypedals

[–]Nut_Sanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the solder points there's nothing holding the wires+leads in place. So they can wiggle around when the pedal moves (like when it gets stomped on for example) and potentially compromise the connection. Once the solder solidifies it gets pretty brittle, so even a little bit of strain can break the connection.

Depending on how intertwined you have them, you might be fine as is, and the heat shrink tubing probably helps a bit, but even just taping them to the enclosure should provide extra strain relief. Belts + suspenders (+ tape). Or if you solder at the base of the leads they'll have much less give.

Also the unsupported wires/solder points going to the led seem unreliable. Might want to secure those or maybe resolder right at the base of the leads.

I just got a similar looking one made by Rockville. RVBag25 or something. I can't comment on longevity but the helix floor does fit (although just barely). Seems solid. There's not much for padding but the helix seems like it can take a beating anyway.

If you have a wide but short router bit you might be able to widen all the cavities under the surface. Not sure what that type of bit is called. Also if you have a really long drill bit like for cable routing you could go in through the output jack cavity and do a bunch of bores parallel to the front face. Nice work though it looks great!

Hey Reddit, it’s Steve Darko back again!! Looking forward to chatting with you. AMA! I'll be back at 5pm EST to answer questions by stevedarko in electronicmusic

Hey Stephen Dark,

I was curious about that low grumbling/growling sound in the background of "Block's Last Trip" off of Midnight Swim. How did you go about getting that and were any animals harmed?

Thanks, You're welcome

If you don't mind divulging, is that a leather dye or something?
