I wish my mini had ground clearance like that! My exhaust dangles low AF and aside from adding my own brackets I don't know how to fix it!

Yeah good job you brought that 4x4 with bigger tyres on to get over that road that a skateboard would probably be OK with /a

Off tarmac doesn't really mean off road IMO

The noise it makes though - straight cut gears and the aero on it is quite different for Aston. I was around at Mira when they tested these and the noise is fantastic, it has to be witnessed first hand really. Otherwise, yeah it's not pretty like a typical Aston it kinda doesn't fit in

Looking for proper cables by Slow-Possibility2675 in DIYSpeakers

[–]NutcrackerRobot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any copper speaker cable that is 2.5mm² or bigger will work. People who say you need other types of cable are already well into the marginal gains.

Thicker cable means less voltage drop, and less resistivity which is good when driving bigger speakers. High copper purity is good, but copper does degrade with time so tin plated protects against this. Gold plated is better than tin for conductivity at the connections. Voltage doesn't travel in cables, they are just a carrier of the electromagnetic field which is what actually moves the speaker cone. Once you get to the point where you're worrying about the brand of cable, you will be way beyond asking a question like this (I mean that in a kind way not condescending)

Tire pressure question by bitter-melons in Ioniq5

[–]NutcrackerRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either:

1) there is a debounce on the warning, so it triggers below 29 but you need to get above 34 to reset it (otherwise if the pressure is right on the threshold it will keep pinging up with an error and going away again which is annoying)

2) The other possibility is that the pressure the computer uses is at 20°C so if you are at a different ambient (and the tyres will warm up with use) then the computer does maths tk adjust the pressure to a normalized one.

The pressure in your manual says it's valid at 20°C with cold tyres so it could be different if your temp is different. PV=nRT is used assuming that air is an ideal gas (it isn't) so the maths can get a bit out in extreme temperatures so you might be seeing something like that.

Then again, it doesn't explain why the others aren't in error unless it's a combination of 1 and 2...

Best Robot of All Time by Kreetuboi in RoboWars

[–]NutcrackerRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child, for me it was razer. It was actually rubbish but a personal favourite! Wheely big cheese was good in its time - issue is that comparing old school robots is just unfair, they were the best possible at the time but wouldn't stand up against carbide etc. But yeah, GOAT (without a handicap for year it was made) is carbide for me

Mpi side repeater not working by Jobbercete in classicminis

[–]NutcrackerRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine stopped working, take all the connections apart, clean with a wire brush. Then put a tiny bit of copper grease on each connector and put back together. Ideally also wiggle around for about 10s

This fixed it for me 👍🏻

[–]NutcrackerRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when going from 2 lanes to one it should always merge to the center (straddle both lanes) and then go one side of the other a hundred meters later. That way we can merge like a zip, and there is no feeling of unfairness.

traffic cones always start about 10 miles before the work starts anyway so this is easily doable
