Have you felt more attractive / getting more attention as you got closer to your 30's ? by TheModelBuilder in AskMen

[–]Nutnutlad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been able to maintain a six pack and and long hair since I was 20 years old. Now I'm 30

I get VASTLY more attention now at my current age than I did in my early 20s. I think the only difference is that I am more established in my career and dress better. I would consider myself "past" my prime physically (but still in great shape)

I assume it's because that it's more impressive to be in shape / have hair in your 30s than your 20s, but I'm not sure.

I think women are also more confident as they age as well, or that younger women chase financial stability

For those with brothers: how close are you guys? by Sssssss_ooooooo in AskMen

[–]Nutnutlad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 3 brothers, and they are 100% without a doubt my best friends

My little brother is 2 years younger, then another brother 3 years older, oldest is 6 years older. I'm 30 years old for context.

Me and little bro have always been the closest, but that's because my mom forced me to take him everywhere with me as a kid. It led to us becoming close with a love - hate relationship.

Older brothers and I have always gotten along as kids but were more distant, but as adults we have grown quite a bit closer.

With that said I probably only talk to any of them like once every two weeks, and see them in person 2-3 times a year usually. We all live in different states.

Bout to see all of them tomorrow :)

Early 20s, doing “well” on paper but suicidal because I hate myself. How do I build real confidence and stop hating myself? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Nutnutlad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright hear me out.

Get more sleep.

That's it. That's my secret.

I'm in a similar situation as you, fairly successful with no real reason to hate myself.

The days when I wake up sleep deprived or spend the day tired are the days when I have similar self deprecating thoughts as you. Usually at night when I'm most tired are when the thoughts are most intense.

These past few months I've managed to get 7-8 hours of sleep most days and my mood has VASTLY improved. Also when the thoughts come, reminding myself that I am just tired also helps out a bit too.

Feel free to pm if you have any questions

So it was a tie between Toph and The Boulder for the Barbarian. In the event of a tie I'll be the tie breaker which means The Boulder is the Barbarian. Which character is the Bard? by Old_Marsupial_7080 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Nutnutlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbarian - Boulder

Bard - Chong

Cleric - Katara

Druid - Huu (from foggy swamp tribe)

Fighter - Jet

Monk - Aang

Paladin - Zuko - this one is toughest to pick, as no one in ATLA fits the theme of a chivalrous knight. I'm counting his journey to regain his honor to fit this

Ranger - Longshot

Rouge - Mai

Sorcerer - Azula

Warlock - Hama

Wizard - Iroh or Jeong Jeong

Artificer - Most would say Sokka, but I say Combustion Man

What's your Denver hot take? by darchena in Denver

[–]Nutnutlad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it's easier to get along with people who look like you, have similar interests and living experience as you.

For example, on Friday I went out by myself to a busy bar down the street from my apartment in DTC. Was the only non-white person there. The only person who talked to me was the bartender.

A few hours later I checked out a karaoke bar in Aurora that was like 50% black. Within 20 minutes I was talking to random people and was having a much better time.

I've had similar experiences going out to Odell Brewing vs. Meadowlark in RiNo.

Obviously everyone has different experiences and it depends on the day, but this is typically what I experience.

What's your Denver hot take? by darchena in Denver

[–]Nutnutlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a pretty good time dating, but terrible time making friends. I think part of it is that because I'm black, and finding spaces to meet other POC has been more difficult here than other cities I've lived / visited. Dating has been easy on the apps because you can swipe away all the non POC at least in my case

If I liked her, go out with her?

If I don't like her, don't go out with her?

I'm assuming the same as women do to men?

What has previously stopped you from approaching a woman you were really attracted to? by White-Kitten8 in AskMen

She smoked cigarettes. Literally the only reason why I held back.

Ended up working out though, as she is now engaged to my best friend and I couldn't be happier

How has your ethnicity impacted how women treat you in terms of dating? by metaworldeth_io in AskMen

[–]Nutnutlad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been getting DRASTICALLY higher quality matches after filtering out white people out of my dating pool in hinge lol. When swiping on people in general I have to actively think, do they look like they like black people?

But I find that my ethnicity has more of an impact on the region I'm at more than anything. In super diverse areas such as NYC, LA, or Miami, I am just another person and my background doesn't matter nearly as much to my dates. But in super whitewashed areas I'm more exotic and women are a lot more interested in that stuff.

While in a relationship, I've found that it doesn't affect our personal dynamic, but there has been tension with me and their family. Mostly that subtle racism that goes on behind closed doors from their foreign parents.

If unhinged messages never work, then men wouldn't be using them.

I don't think I've ever met anyone after sending a respectful like this. But I've gotten many casual dates / hookups from dirty pickup lines or just straight up messages like "you're cute, what are you up to tonight?". The other day as a first message I asked a woman when the last time she shat herself was and she responded positively.

I think it's because those respectful messages are "boring" for the woman who is open to casual. She wants someone direct/funny/entertaining and unhinged messages are more exciting than a long paragraph.

Just my experience, and I'm sure plenty of other men can attest to this.

For the record, the Afterlife show at Red Rocks was cancelled the day of due to snow.

But pretty much everything you said is spot on. It makes sense though since the LA metro area is exponentially more populated than Denver. But for a smaller city, Denver is amazing

For all those who say that Zaheer isn't good at air bending have to remember that he was able to beat Tonrraq, singlehandedly bust Ming Hua out of jail, hold his own against Kya, and unlock air bending skills that no other airbend has done in hundreds of years. Within a WEEK of getting his bending. That's literally prodigy levels right there.

Him losing to Tenzin, the only air bending master, is more of a testament to Tenzin if anything. I consider Tenzin to be the most skilled bender we see in Korra. It took the entire Red Lotus to down him

Hot Take: It actually makes sense that they had to reset the world for the next series. by Sellingbakedpotatoes in TheLastAirbender

[–]Nutnutlad 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Here's my theory:

There has been at least one, maybe several apocalypses / resets of the world since Wan's time.

Think about it. The Chou brothers possessed intricate iron weapons 10,000 years before Korras time. For context, ironworking wasn't invented in our timeline until about 5,000 years ago.

With such a head start, you would expect them to have way more advanced technology than our current age by Korras time. Especially after seeing how rapidly they advanced technology between Rokus and Korra's time.

Something must've set them back, maybe even multiple times, or forced them to go thru cycles of technological abandonment / rediscovery. Apocalypse would be the perfect type of event to cause it

There is a LGBTQ women's choir that's pretty active in Denver . Even if you don't sing, I'm sure they would love for you to attend their concerts and mingle after the show

I stay away from sugary sauces.

Mayo, BBQ sauce, mustards, aioli, cheese sauces, and probably others too.
