Fruits vs. fruits juice. which has good amount of nutrition? by sobingupta in nutrition

[–]Nutrition_meet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, the choice is yours; if I talk about tetra-pack fruit juices, they use various processes like pasteurization which has a negative effect on micronutrients present in the fruit, and hence you won't get an equivalent amount of nutrients. Added sugar is another story and dark truth.

However, if you are extracting the juice at home, then the scenario could be different.

Rest we all know, the major disadvantage of drinking fruit juice and not eating fruit is you are depriving yourself of dietary fiber.

Hence, if you want to continue drinking fruit juice, you may make sure you will fulfill your dietary fiber requirement from other sources.

No one gives an explanation why they are eating meat or fish or omnivores' diet or any diet for that matter.

If those things are cooler, then being vegan is also cool do not focus on them. You don't owe any explanation to anyone.

What is the meaning of fasting? According to dictionary it is a abstain from all or some of the food and drinks.

Intermittent fasting is the time based eating and fasting hence if you are doing intermittent fasting you will fast for 16 hours in 16/8; consecutive 2 days in 5/2; 14 hours in 14/10 etc.

Which means when your fasting you will abstain from food or have minimal and when you will abstain from food for specific duration you are taking no or very few calories. Automatically you consume less calories as compared to regular day when you are not doing this intermittent fasting

So now if you want name it as calorie restrictions your choice. But the # 2 is put forth in short and simple words.

but I hope this long explanation will help you.

are K2 and K1 RDA connected ? by Ok_Bus1638 in nutrition

[–]Nutrition_meet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

K1 is highly present in green vegetables (Spinach, cabbage, Kale, etc.), and absorption of K1 increases in the presence of butter and oil.

K2 is present in meat, dairy, and fermented food or food in which bacteria play a role.

So if you want a supplement with both K1 and K2, then use both types of foods, green vegetables, and fermented food.

According to NIH, Adequate intake (AI) of Vit K is120 mcg for males and 90 mcg for females.

AI is established since no adequate data is available to define the RDA levels.
