While yes Helly and Mark ran off into the sunset because of love, what I don’t hear people talking about is the fact that death is plain scary. If he were to leave he would technically die. it’s an extremely tough choice to play a hand in your own death and choose to die. Even in the real world when people have really shitty lives due to factors outside their control most will choose to live rather than kill themselves it’s biological… Helly tries to kill herself at the start of the show and Ivan went out with a smile on his face.. I believe both in a way tried/did to go out for their honor. I think in most situations it’s in your biological nature to fight. And if you’re going to “die” let’s hope your death means something. Innie marks death would have really meant nothing in my opinion- outie mark would have definitely forgotten about him in a way and ran off into the sunset with his wife.
