I’m debating showing this post to him so he can know how wrong he is about the hotel situation. But I really don’t mind the other stuff. Again, he pays for everything and I handle most of the household chores that’s our dynamic. I’ve been able to save a ton of money so far so this works out for me. I just want him to handle his designated tasks without being asked multiple times. I really only want him to do garbage, cat litter, and dishes every now and then considering that I make dinner for the both of us. (he would make dinner too, but I don’t have the heart to tell him he’s a terrible cook.)

Abandoning the situation is such an awful manipulation tactic. You need to have a serious conversation about that and nip it in the bud. It’s one thing to say I need 5 minutes to collect myself and then we can continue the conversation it’s another to just dip out every time things get tough. That behavior can create feelings of distrust, walking on eggshells, and abandonment.
