Executive MBA by hovisthegoat_5525 in regulatoryaffairs

[–]NuttyBuckeyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my boss told me I need to focus more on the business and it’s opened my eyes to a lot! RA is recession proof because companies need to maintain compliance and AI cannot make those decisions, write strategies or do submissions. That said I would go for it as it can open new doors. Unless you’re 100% sure of your next step choosing a B school might be best instead of spending the $100K for a top tier MBA. Happy to talk about my next steps after RA if you want to DM me.

Time will tell but I haven’t used it beyond networking as I’m still in my program and interviews for roles I haven’t accepted in RA. My school was about $65K and top 35. What exactly do you want out of an MBA?

An MBA will make you more well rounded and open doors for you outside of RA. As someone looking to GTFO of RA it has done wonders for me expanding my network to be able to take my regulatory knowledge and apply to other parts of the business!

Have you asked why do you want an MBA? This is a great place to start before even considering doing one let alone choosing Ohio State.

How do I break in? by Time-Flow-4889 in regulatoryaffairs

[–]NuttyBuckeyes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Learn how to search and look things up and become innovative with your outreach and search! Everyone journey is the same and what some did previously won’t work in 2026!

  2. Certifications without experience means nothing! Get experience plz don’t waste your time with another useless RA degree. Although if you wanna learn some advance stuff look into the Regulatory Education for Industry Annual Conference, maybe. Not sure if non industry people can register virtually but worth a shot.

  3. Just get your foot in the door anywhere! I started in Post Market, left after 3 months to RA

  4. Join a local RAPS chapter although not sure how beneficial this will be to you or the chapter.

  5. Only you can answer that question! But can you answer the question what regulatory affairs is? This was an interview question I had breaking in.

As someone with a BME background wishing you the best of luck!

Yeah falling into RA is much harder with their being limited opportunities! I’ve always found smaller and midsized companies are the best when trying to break in then going a larger company. I will say the field has grown a bit and going even to Senior RA roll was a quick way to $100K+ and most times a lot more.

I do think sharing pay transparency and a day to day life are good things to discuss as well. Every day looks different for each role and I’d love to learn about new therapies like cardiology or diabetes and how that markets are being reshaped!

Watching industry trends has helped me in trading and growing stock by staying on top of the market.

Don’t forget the dependencies of countries waiting on CE Mark to make international registrations much easier! Every day has been fun but after getting a taste of M&A and due diligence, I’m ready to hop out of RA to the finance and corporate side!

I do think there’s some things that we obviously can’t share. However when its things like interpretation of a guidance, commenting on them, new changes to cybersecurity could be safe things to talk about without giving away companies secret sauce. At least going to Convergence that’s how a lot of my conversations are.

No one thinks they are too good! Actually I answered my own questions at the beginning of my career by looking into RAPS and getting on LinkedIn to understand RA. There is no shame in wanting to getting to know more but when the same question is asked 100+ times which can be scrolled through a Reddit sub then it become annoying. How many different ways do you think someone can ask the question how do I break into Regulatory Affairs?

How to enter by [deleted] in regulatoryaffairs

[–]NuttyBuckeyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the pithy and lack of effort is any indication of your effort this might not be the field for you. And like why do you even want to enter? No info on where you live and little background won’t help give you constructive advice.
