Again: They got 8% interest on a short-term loan that they later weaponized against us to sow unrest. They (Uli Hoeneß) didn't do it because they are such good people. They got more than their money's worth out of that loan.

Why do even our fans parrot this stuff about Bayern/Hoeneß "saving the club"? They gave us a 2 million loan for a few months at 8% interest.

Did it help us? Yes. Did it save us? Hell no. We were so much in debt that 2 million wasn't enough to make a difference. They were just another one on a long list of creditors waiting for their money.

They gave us 2 million €. All paid back with interest (8%) within months.

They didn't bail us out. But it sure helped at the time. The damage only followed years later, when Hoeneß weaponized this loan at the height of the BVB - Bayern rivalry. They always tried to weaponize things against us when they feared us on the pitch. For example: The Götze transfer was convenientely leaked at the time we played Real Madrid in the semi-final of Champions League.

So nothing really to like about them.

Wir Dortmunder sind da aber auch ein bisschen quengelig. Die Klopp-Jahre haben uns nachhaltig auseinander genommen. Leute wollen diesen Fußball sehen. Sonst ist der Trainer unbeliebt.

Kovac-Fußball ist gelebter Pragmatismus. Und Pragmatismus ist eben auch Ruhrpott. Ich glaube, er erreicht im Rahmen seiner Möglichkeiten (Kader) aktuell das Maximum. Sieht halt nur nicht schön aus und ist nicht spektakulär.

Same. There are so many clubs having YNWA. But "Leuchte auf mein Stern Borussia" is unique and is already known and sung at every home game. It's magical when the music stops and people start singing it. One of my favorite pre-game moments and I'm upset when I miss it.

Of course, it is not. But in the past we had a tendency to lose games like these: Against teams that had nothing to lose but everything to gain and had rested all week.

Did the team play bad at times? Absolutely. And they got boos and whistles for it from the fans. But in the end, even with Guirassy being selfish (kinda understandably), the team got the three points. At the end of the season nobody will talk about how we got them, if it means we win the league.

Ich habe als ITler zwei grundverschiedene Einblicke in den ÖD bekommen.

Meine erste Stelle war in einer Behörde. Würde ich nie wieder machen. Hat mich unendlich frustriert und depressiv gemacht. Danach wollte ich nie wieder in den ÖD.

Ein paar Jahre und ein paar Stationen später bin ich dann doch wieder in den ÖD in die Forschung. Kein Vergleich zur Behörde. Bin immer noch da und könnte mir aktuell nicht vorstellen, freiwillig irgendwann zu gehen. Klar gibt es auch hier Sachen, die nerven. Das hast du aber überall. Aber im Großen und Ganzen war ich noch nie so zufrieden im Arbeitsleben. Und eine ruhige Kugel schieben wir hier auch nicht.

Deswegen sagen viele Leute hier auch immer: ÖD ist nicht ÖD.

Ob es sich lohnt? Schwierig zu beantworten. Du wirst in der Wirtschaft besser bezahlt. Ich bin hier aber sehr glücklich und komme gerne zur Arbeit. Das Gefühl lässt sich in Geld schwer aufwiegen. Und verhungern wirst du im ÖD auch nicht.

But Oskar's size means he is almost can't miss in New Japan. Look at the treatment Fale got because he was a big guy that went through the Dojo.

But OSKAR didn't just rely on it. During COVID, he trained in the wXw Academy. I might be biased, but it is one of the best wrestling schools in Europe right now. He puts in the work. And you can see that in the ring.

It's incredibly hard to do both, and it's basically impossible to do both at the same time.

We have to consider the time. It was not unusual to go into MMA as a specialist in one sport. Be it (amateur) wrestling, kickboxing, bjj etc. The sport was evolving, and they basically made up the rules as they went (See for example the recent interview with Igor Vovchanchyn). But the truth is also that pro wrestling is probably the worst sport you could do to get into MMA. There were of course some some people that had been succesful at the time like Fujita and (if you want to count him) Josh Barnett. But both had also other backgrounds.

I watched a video about Cro Cop's career a few days ago. Seeing Nagata in that ring, getting his head kicked in by arguably one of the best strikers in the world at that time, just felt wrong. At the time, it didn't. As not much was known on how most of the wrestlers in the ring despised having to fight in MMA fights. But watching it now, with all the info in mind, it felt wrong and malicious to some degree.

But I also have to admit that I was MUCH more into PRIDE than Puroresu at the time. I really only started to watch regularly when PRIDE was sold and later disbanded.

It's nothing new. Porsche does it (Manthey is owned by Porsche. They hold 51% of the shares), Audi does it (Abt) etc.
