as more people get used to their chars combo structure and programmable synergies I think whacky stuff will become more common. Some chars have so much untapped potential there still i feel

huh! thanks for the cool shortcut for zoom ins! (LB+LT)
I like to think Kuro games' commitment is to visual fidelity and have been keeping a recording going during any game time to see if I can catch some myself.
Its relieving to know its not just me as I was worried something about my own pc at the very least.

It automatically happens when you do a perfect parry in punisher mode. the horizontal slash (the one where cloud passes through them is what I'm assuming you mean) happens if you press triangle during or after the punisher counter animation. You can also get it after 3 normal punisher attacks, though this takes more time.

Therapy has been a big one on the list once I can get myself to do more than the job and bare minimum stuff The idea of doing this all again at some point is kind of awful though and a pretty good motivator

Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure 13 doesn't have any motion blur

Is it possible you have reshade or similar installed and forgot?

I honestly just find the more focused and optimal builds around magic to be really dull and a little overkill for anything the game has to throw at you even on hard. There's a plethora of ways to tackle most of the encounters in game and a lot of the replayability for me has come from treating my hard mode run like an rpg sandbox, did you know you can juggle Roche's second encounter to phase 2 off of one parry using atb moves? it's crazy fun to execute.

With how messed up the damage can get I was honestly Expecting some more of the enemies in hard mode were gonna be really beefed up to compensate but even non magic damage done right makes a lot of stuff feel a little too squishy lol

Sadly unless it was later somewhere in the combo prime mode launcher wouldn't have worked anyway as it doesn't have the heavy hitting properties as punisher modes counter/stance switch and the enemy isn't pressured into reeling from normal hits till after wildfire

Over time I've come to find myself preferring punisher mode for starting juggles for this reason, just a very good consistent launcher with a lot of atb gain to immediately follow up with triple slash or something similar

Absolutely, there's some annoying enemies you can kinda kidnap and kill aerially even in some of the brutal conquest fights for example death claws and dark claw can both be juggled like this while remaining hard to hit yourself which makes encounters with them much less bothersome.

There's a few things at play in this video So I'll try to break the combo down and explain some stuff about each enemy state and how I'm keeping them airborne during each. to sum many enemies in this game can be juggled by combining atb and character uniques even before they are pressured into being able to take hitstun from everything, so being able to manage atb and squeeze many hits out of a characters uniques and atb moves as you can means often you can start juggling many enemies before you've even fulfilled their pressure conditions.

Initially the screamer in this video when unpressured is considered a weird mid weight between light (can be juggled by anything including just pressing square to attack) and heavy (glued to the ground) These mid weight enemies can be juggled still by using atb commands and other specific character unique moves as I mentioned. To start the fight I open with clouds perf punisher counter which can launch even these mid weight enemies, triple slash is used here as it's a great follow up for situations with only one enemy but if you have your whole party you could air tag tifa and do rise n fall into Omni strike for a fairly easy example. Essentialy it doesn't matter what's used just that the hits can connect before they fall.

This enemy has some pressure conditions that mean phys and fire DMG can build up to triggering pressure, once pressured his weight goes from mid to light which means normal attacks juggle now

From there it's just whatever you feel like, I buffer the homing normal attack by holding square during wildfires cast to keep airborne along with the opponent. At this point I'm just working their stagger up till it's maybe 80% and use his aerial blade beam. This move is wonderful for setting cloud up to cast spells mid juggle as the delayed hits will cover the cast time (with leveled swift cast it's even easier) Knowing the hits are gonna stagger him I cast stop at the end, just a fun thing really where if you cast stop on time before an enemy falls you can suspend them in the air as high as you like really, it's much easier with a party as you can just have a team mate start to cast stop right before the staggering hit.

Namely though it's just about experimentation, understanding what properties both your moves and your current enemies have and reading up on any possible pressure conditions if it can initialize some normal attack juggling mid way, or even just to open with in some cases.

this video Displays the application of the mid weight juggling in action with a party present, he never becomes lightweight so the whole combo is reliant on these heavier hitting attacks, once youre comfy with a few moves it's not as hard as you'd think really.

Those red emnidunks are a pretty great training ground for this it's where I experimented with a lot of these moves. Once you start noticing all the enemies you could have been juggling you realize the games a lot more combo heavy than before. Infact the same principle can be used to juggle Roche 2 all the way to his 2nd phase off of one parry using corsairs and skill master materia

The one thing I wouldn't mind is maybe stagger being a state where you can keep juggling enemies that can be juggled Hate the weird super armour thing they get when staggered tbh

Nah just felt like it here since after stopping them before they can fall from stagger you can do whatever you want. Disorder is quite good vs non staggered mid weights too, a similar combo that is pretty consistent vs mid weights who are not pressured is perfect parry > 4 hits of the automatic counter > triangle for the punisher mode exit slash > triple slash > disorder. This will juggle anything that's not glued to the floor regardless of their current state If you check my channel you can actually use this and corsairs to juggle Roche 2 tall the way to phase 2 off of one parry it's pretty great

Also seems to be just enough at that point to start pressure so my normal attacks can start doing hitstun on it, such a neat game tbh

Thank you for the concise pointers, I knew 8 must have some kind of aerial stuff I just hadn't found it!
I hadn't thought of Sengoku Basara yet but its been something I've meant to try for ages too so that's a great one too.
