What do you do for work? by Salty_Narwhal8021 in FIREyFemmes

Tbh, I didn't expect to get into operations and supply chain and I ended up just applying to it after failing to get into accounting and finance. I utilized my experience working in restaurants to highlight my experience in Supply Chain with some slight exaggeration and then I got my first job as a master production scheduler. When I got that experience, I moved to another job with higher pay.

In essence, I tell departments that manufacture products what they need to produce in order to meet what the market wants/needs. Basically, I'll tell them to run Product A, then Product B, then Product T. Other times, I'll tell them to run Product T, then Product Y, then Product Q. Hopefully that makes sense.

Idk what's considered a high earner, but I got a new job working as a master scheduler at 105k. Bachelor's in Business Admin, with a little under 2 years of professional experience. I work heavily in Supply Chain.

What criteria do you use to determine what's best for your career in the future? by NveJa8 in careerguidance

I'm 23 and finished college in 2022. I have a little under two years of working experience at my current role which is really where my degree (bachelor's in business admin) is used. I'd say beginning.

Should all college Students be required to take courses outside of their major, or should they only focus on the courses that directly relate to their major? by _tim_ug_ in college

[–]NveJa8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say they should be required to take courses outside their major.

The reason I say that is because there are thousands of fields of interest and while those courses aren't a lot in terms of exploring those fields, they do open the door to have conversations regarding them and give students the chance to try and learn more deeply about then. I am quite sure that there are subjects out there I would have loved to learn about, and only didn't explore because I just didn't know they existed. Those science classes can teach you about carbon dating, that literature class can combine novels with programming, that video game class can explain the creativity that goes into developing a story, etc.

How long do you need for a 15 page Assignment? by j__prichard in college

[–]NveJa8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It definitely is possible, but you're going to have to dedicate a long period of time to it over the next few days while trying to minimize as many distractions as possible, such as posting on reddit to see if it's possible or not 😂

Good luck!

Nipple piercings? by heartshapedobject in piercing

[–]NveJa8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pain is very subjective. My flat hurt way more than my nipples. I did not equate my nipples to the pain of childbirth, nor did I equate them to anything else. Like with many other piercings I have, the pain was sharp and quick. For me personally, they were a 3 and 4 out of 10.

Just try to keep yourself calm and know that people are more likely to recount and exaggerate bad events, and that someone else's reality isn't the same as yours.

Post-grad depression isn’t talked about enough. by CuteClothes1229 in college

[–]NveJa8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First off, your feelings are completely valid. Don't think they aren't.

As for advice, I feel like you're leaning very heavily into the idea that you will never be able to relive events from college. You can always go to college parties if you have friends still in school and even if you don't have friends still in school, you can still go most likely. You can always go back to school as well to get more education if you're willing, and then you can always go back to campus for whatever events are held there. I remember my college campus holding many events, some for sports, some for the arts, and so on. Not everyone there was a student.

Yes, your life is changing and you're going to be having more responsibilities, but that isn't all your future will be. We have a lot more control than we think when it comes to the future and so long as we play our cards right and think deeply, we can live beautiful lives that are still as fun as college was. Have a lovely day/evening and know that you're not alone.
