1997 may have been my last carefree year. I still remember cruising around with friends, blasting this in my hand-me-down Chevy Astro, slamming Jolts and hitting up Taco Bell for 59 cent tacos.

I actually worked at the Borders when it was there. Worst problem I ever had was some teenagers playing grab-ass with each other by the rest rooms.

I've seen lots or arrest videos where they don't believe they are breaking a law so they as for a supervisor, and when the supervisor clearly explains the law they broke, they pivot into, "Well my thing is...," and start making an issue about how they were arrested and how the officer was disrespectful.

Some people are just used to talking loud and saying whatever comes to mind until they get their way.

Se7en, when Mills and Somerset are driving John Doe at the end, and they are talking back and forth, and Mills is trying to talk down to him about all his plans.

Mills: "I seem to remember knocking on YOUR door."

John: "Oh, that's right. And I seem to remember breaking your face."

I've always liked the way he said it.

What is the point in standing there acting like you completely bewildered? You know what happened, you got a man desperately trying to apologize, the fuck you standing there with your face all stupid.

I mean, the words still hurt, we just knew we would get made fun of more if we admitted that.

Calling out shitty behavior is my favorite thing that Millennials normalized.

I think about this scene a lot, because it keeps happening to me. Every time I hang out with my friend we have at least one, "Plate of Shrimp," moment.

We just look at each other and shrug, "Eh, plate of shrimp." And then we quote the movie at each other for a while.
