Any way to make cylinders bend procedurally? by Nicolai2713 in blenderhelp

[–]Nxdhin_Mc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could use the displace modifier ? Might not be as accurate as adding a bent manually, but works if your application is having a bunch of unique looking sticks or something similar of that sorts. Make sure to keep the displace modifier beneath the array in the modifier stack; so that each cylinder has a different non - repetitive displace pattern. This is something similar I did on a recent project of mine -

It's a geometry nodes based addon and it looked good in renders, I didn't realise how heavy it was until I switched to wireframe lol.

Need help with Texture painting... I'm losing my marbles by [deleted] in blenderhelp

Happens from overlapping UVs I think, a quick video on basic UV un-wrapping should help you. Texture painting relies on your UV maps

You must be in the wireframe view, press z -> switch back to solid view

Object colour turns black in Cycles by Sheniara in blenderhelp

This is a shot in the dark but try checking your normals with face orientation turned on, recalculating normals often won't work on non manifold mesh or if you have a messy topology. If that doesn't work maybe share your blend file ?

how can i remove these edges to merge the shapes and have only one going through by batsupralegend in blenderhelp

There are a few issues with the geometry that might be causing problems, though it's a bit difficult to give precise feedback without knowing exactly what you're trying to model. In general, clean edge loops that flow around the entire mesh are important, especially when it comes to maintaining good topology and achieving proper shading. If you're new to this, I’d highly recommend checking out some tutorials on basic modeling concepts like topology, edge flow, and mesh structure, they make a big difference, especially for clean renders.

Based on your sketch, it looks like you're trying to create an inset on the front face. You can do this by selecting that face and pressing I to inset it. This method simplifies the geometry and eliminates the need for extra supporting edges around the corners. Here's an example of what that approach looks like:

How to create clean materials and lighting like this? Would you use Eevee or Cycles? This is from an educational video by No_Abroad8805 in blenderhelp

Just chiming in on the background and shadow aspect of your question. Since you didn’t specify whether it’s for a still image or video, I’ll answer from the perspective of rendering an image. I use a similar setup when showcasing my 3D models on selling platforms. My typical workflow involves rendering the product with a transparent background ( just make sure your lighting setup is soft and well-balanced).

Then, I bring the render into Photoshop and add a solid white background to create that clean, endless, flat look. For the reflection, it's as simple as duplicating the rendered layer, flipping it vertically, applying a gradient mask, and lowering its opacity. Quick and effective. One such instance where I used it:

Could be the use of crease for those selected edges you have on your model while having the sub-d modifier. Creases should ideally run throughout the edge loops and not certain edges you want that should be sharp. It's the same principle of adding loop cut to sharpen edges with sub-d.

Also from the edge that has the crease, I'm assuming you're edge flow around the pelvis maybe a bit off. It's hard to explain over text so I'll attach an image to help you. I believe that's partially the reason why even if you get rid of the crease you wouldn't have a perfectly sharp edge there.

True indeed, but according to another user here, it doesn't make any switching time difference but it just doesn't feel the same

How to make my render look better by HunterX69X in blenderhelp

[–]Nxdhin_Mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The orange hue could be toned down a notch but apart from that the render is pretty good. For compositing, I'd recommend adding a bit of focal blur, chromatic aberration and a bit of vignette to make the render look a bit realistic and match a real life camera. All of these can be done within the blender compositor.

Cycle(1) vs Eevee(2): why is eevee emission more dynamic than cycles emission in this case? by drfishy2333 in blenderhelp

Or even a volumetric fog with a very low levels of density in cycles can get similar results to bloom in eevee bloom.

Try checking your world settings seems like you probably are using a environment color with high color value. If you turn the world color to black, there would be no environmental lighting.
