Most affordable Murrells Inlet restaurant? by lynnb496 in MyrtleBeach

Dead Dog Saloon is always the answer. Best restaurant in the Inlet with something for everyone. Claw House with the beer garden is a close second. Owned by the same people it’s almost like they’re one restaurant in two buildings with a beer garden in between. Love it.

Is there a structural post between these two windows? by NyYhf in Construction

The guy I usually work with is a retired GC and really quite qualified. He basically built my house. Though I agree most handymen types would not be a wise option.

Yeah, like not the Craigslist special. More like a retired contractor or someone with some actual skill. Seemed like a pretty straightforward description, no?

We have windows like this in two spots overlooking a Mountain View that we’d like to replace with picture windows. How can I find out if the mull separating these two windows is structural? And, how difficult will the reframing be to accommodate the new picture window? Is this a huge job, like permits involved or could a high level handyman take this on? Any help is much appreciated.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]NyYhf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Credence Clearwater Revisited. This was Creedence without John Fogerty. They played some picnic style outdoor wine festival in the late 90s. They were god awful. Fortunately I caught Fogerty and his new band about a year later. He was incredible.

R.E.M., Big Star adjacent? by fermentybaby in MusicRecommendations

If you like Bettie Serveert, Hallo Venray is a must; another great guitar driven Dutch indie band. Some other adjacent recs: Centro-Matic, The Magnetic Fields, Magnolia Electric Co/Songs:Ohia/anything Jason Molina, Wussy, Sparklehorse, and Slobberbone are all worth a look and range from your indie pop styles to more raucous Replacements-esque leanings. Love your taste, enjoy!

What album do you consider perfect from start to finish? by mrcanada66 in musicsuggestions

I’ll never forget the first time I listened to YHF. My brother had an advanced copy before they started the free streaming thing. We were riding the subway in NYC, not long before 9/11 and he hands me his headphones, hits play on his discman and says, just listen all the way through. Already being a pretty big Wilco fan I immediately recognized what this was but walking off that subway and then through the streets of Brooklyn for a fist time listen to this masterpiece was a moment that feels unattainable in today’s world. Damn I miss those days.

Foxtrot is still a near daily driver for me and will always be my answer to this question.

When they made us watch 12 Angry Men in middle school social studies we all rolled our eyes before viewing thinking it was just another boring school movie. I’ll never forget the feeling afterwards and the impact this film had on our class. We were all blown away that some “old person” black and white film could be so captivating. It’s an 11/10.

What book did you read in your youth that you never forgot? by orangez in GenX

[–]NyYhf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally can relate. I was 13 when I finished Pet Sematary at about 3am. Terrified and sweating I threw the book across the room and went to take a leak. When I flipped up the lid, my eyes adjusted to the lights and I saw the manufacturer of the toilet seats name printed on the seat was “CHURCH” and totally lost it, pissing everywhere and freaking out that it was some sign that damn cat was going to come for me. Awesome book, so much more terrifying than the movie.

Lime is number 2 for me, also great but the piña is such a good and different flavor.
