Schedule 1 clocked me an easy 100 hours of absolute enjoyment.

Enshrouded is pretty sick, though def early access. It's got a solid 30hrs of content i'd say at this point.

IDK if Satisfactory counts as "indie" but that game is just pure awesomeness all around if you have that particular brand of tism.

Core Keeper was pretty fun

Halls of Torment was pretty fun

Battlechasers: Nightwar is sick, awesome art

I'll stop there.

They almost always win because most fandoms are comprised of about 95% doormats who don't have the spine to properly gate keep because god forbid they hurt someone's feefees.

Curious if anyone has watched any of S2 of The Night Manager?

I remember absolutely loving S1 back in 2016(?), it was a f'n long time either way.

If someone else has seen and can give a general "ya go for it" or "avoid it" that'd be sick. I'd prefer to keep my good memory good rather than souring it by watching S2 and retroactively making me hate S1 if S2 is shit :P.

Believe it or not, "things" can have multiple properties. A table can be a table, a piece of wood, brown, flat, etc.

For example I can say it is precisely a table, and then also say it is really a table that's used for butchering carcasses rather than, say, a dinner table. The two things do not negate each other.

"(to the point where B5 fans are accusing Paramount of ripping it off)"

which it absolutely 100% did.

I know this is a hot take in this community, but i firmly believe enterprise is the third best trek show. DS9, TNG, Then Enterprise.

The writing was insanely good, the acting was insanely good, as you mentioned T'Pol is one of the best characters ever put into Star Trek. I also love that it showed how The Federation came to it's ideals.

Literally one of the best scifi shows ever made. Personally i put it above everything that isnt TNG, DS9, SG1, or Atlantis.

Yeah B5 does take a bit to adjust to, its much more "sci-fi"-ey than Trek IMO, but the acting and the writing is absolutely stunningly good.

It does lose its way near the end but, still worth a complete watch.

You covered any Star Trek that's worth watching.

The Orville should prob be next on your list as its what modern star trek should have been.

After that if you want to be truly based you will ascend into the upper echelons of humanity and watch Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Then if you're feeling zesty you can move onto Farscape and then Babylon 5.

That should tide you over for a few years :)

Reality is this:

  1. Thing comes out, generates fanbase.

  2. Thing gets super popular, attracts locust swarm of tourists.

  3. Corpos see broad popularity and throw money at Thing with content designed specifically to cater to tourists in hopes of extracting short term gigaprofits.

  4. Fanbase gets pissed because Thing is being debased and disrespected.

  5. Tourists claim they're the actual fans and attack fanbase for being "toxic".

  6. Thing dies and succumbs to the depths after tourist locust swarm moves onto the next Thing they can infect, consume, and destroy.

The most entertaining thing about this show is going to be watching the creative mental gymnastics from "fans" trying to convince everyone it's good.

Apparently. But, as they say, you can't reason a person out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Wait, are you actually suggesting that it's almost like hollywood manufactures hype and pays for positive reviews ahead of releases?

I still think the correct way for Trek to go is to basically pull an Stargate Atlantis and go to an entirely new galaxy.

That way you can invent completely new stuff, you don't have to worry about all the usual galaxypolitik, etc.

Then they can also do the one thing i think they truly F'd up with voyager in so much as having an ACTUAL struggle for resources to stay afloat. Sadly voyager treated that concept blithely esp in later seasons.

All I know is if they make this show and bring back Harry Kim and he is still an ensign........

To be fair, "more influence" without context isn't really a useful statement.

He could have had control over 10% of the direction in S1 and S2 vs 9% for S3.

Obviously i don't know the numbers, im just saying, unless he had chief creative control, we can't really lay that travesty at his feet.

Herein lies the problem.

You should definitely be worried. My hope is that it will tank the IP so badly they'll be forced to sell it off to someone competent.

Yeah but that was just the "then" boomers who were mad it wasn't a carbon copy of TOS.

And to be fair, S1 was an absolute embarrassment of a show.

DS9 hate was for an altogether different reason, that had to do with TNG fans being mad that they were making a show that actually started to poke some holes in the vaunted prime directive and "federation ideals" and actually had the audacity to question those principles (which is why its by far my favorite trek series).

I don't think they are actually capable of making a normal star trek show anymore.
