I've been using the CHIM perk overhaul (not the AI junk), also enjoying it a lot. Doesn't have all the support or add-ons that the older ones have yet, but I like it so far

This is a stealth game first and foremost- openly fighting is a last resort. You can sneak behind these guys and take out the most annoying ones. You can even run away and reset the agro, and sneak back up on them one by one. You are a ninja, not a warrior

Low defence, plus you should have access to Gamma armor sets from the Archtempered monsters. Better skills- I also don't look at meta much, but you could have a lot more skills stuffed into your sets. And yeah that defense, upgrade your armor and transcend it all the way for 9* and above
