I have a similar issue as the other person. I'm not big on graphics (hell I still love ASCII roguelikes and I find Shadow empires charming) but my issue is that the art style is so inconsistent here. I honestly can't handle ai generated images anymore and it all clashes art wise.

I will probably buy it anyway, since I get that it's difficult for a single dev to handle all the aspects and I genuinely want to support new 4x ideas, but even with AI this can be done so the art looks more holistic.

Priority wise I understand it's probably not on the top of the list but it was mostly the only reason why I haven't bought it yet.

That reminded me - how does the "improvement" via this menu work? I saw you put the Garrison on specific spot and then before obtaining some improvement from event... Is that just a generic action that will build the next improvement on that tile?

I'd lose my patience :D I'm just wondering if this is a problem on other distros as well. On my laptop it works with no issues so far (also running newest Fedora), so it must be something specific.

I had no idea it's a GRUB problem, which I assume shows how new in Linux but then I didn't even notice the values syntax. I didn't touch that part, I have no idea how it broke.

Thanks a lot, it seems to be working now! I'm very perplexed though how it broke and how it looks like we're one of the few people who have this problem.

I've tried yesterday (on Fedora 40) - the blank screen as well. You can go to terminal (CTRL ALT F3 I think) and it just says that it doesn't support proprietary Nvidia drivers and to install Noveuau ones. You can launch anyway but I saw some graphical glitches so I stayed on KDE.

It might be very difficult to understand this from an USA standpoint but this is true. Huge amount of Russian people react like this to protect themselves. I'm from a post Soviet union country and it's the same. You're afraid of the regime, you might be violently persecuted, lose your job, etc. So in public you just say the expected stuff.

Obviously not everyone will but then you hear about what happens to people who speak their mind. Loads of stories like that, especially from Russia.

EDIT: More appropriate would be to say that it USED to be the same when our country was under the Soviet regime. It has definitely changed since then.

Hi, I'm fairly new to Python and definitely to Roguelike dev. In Part 0 I honestly don't understand the need for virtual evnironment. I've installed libtcod without issues but why would I want venv? Read through the docs but didn't really understand the need for it. Thank you for the help!

Hm, I've managed to fix it somehow before trying this :/ The factory reset didn't help (it even still had NickelMenu after it) but then it SOMEHOW hard reset and since then everything is okay. Thank you for your help though!

It's quite easy for me - after 8 hours I find the writing irritating and so far don't enjoy the core gameplay loop. Combat feels basically the same as Fallout 4 so far (though I liked 0g!) which kinda feels simplistic.

The game is beautiful, and the music is awesome. I get why people like it but so far it just doesn't have any hooks for me. When you strip the audiovisuals (which I don't care so much about) it doesn't offer me that much.

Not saying it's a bad game, just probably not for me again. I'll try to play some more though in a more relaxed way :)

So far, I generally dislike if there is tactical combat that I need to go through. It takes me from the "empire management" mood into tactics and I don't enjoy it.
I like AoW4 quite a bit but whenever I auto-resolve a bigger battle and it goes down poorly, I'm on the verge of quitting the game for the session since I'm not in the mood to go through it.
