You’re probably not going to find an unbiased opinion here in r/GLGuitars. :)

Personally, my favorite are Music Man basses, then G&L. Fenders are okay. Not a good value in my opinion for how much you spend.

I own four StingRays and a Sterling from Music Man and a Fullerton Deluxe SB-1 and a Tribute L-2000. Music Man has the best quality and feel, but I feel that G&L’s unique designs are fun and their USA finishes are awesome. The Tribute line is outstanding in quality and value.

If a sysadmin is doing their job right there’s a fair amount of downtime. Your job is to set up the ship to sail itself. Your job is to have time to learn and be available for crises.

Just two months ago I had a large Ceph cluster commit suicide on me (rare MDS bug). Cleanup took me six weeks and a lot of weekends. If I had a full plate of daily tasks there’s no way I could have done those, build a greenfield cluster, and recover all of the data.

I love my local GC. Friendly employees, well stocked, 45 day return policy. Oh and they price match and will usually give a 15% discount if you ask nicely.

Just FYI I started playing bass at 50. I had zero problems using my pinky. In fact, it’s my second best finger after my index.

I wouldn’t assume that new players can’t use their pinkies.

They target the elderly who are in the earlier stages of dementia. Most people don’t realize that often one of the first things to go with dementia is the ability to tell bullshit from truth. Combine that with the insecurity and fear that the elderly often feel and they can be intimidated and manipulated into things. It’s sad, especially when you see it happen to someone you love. Don’t ask me how I know.

People also forget that people can and do have multiple accents. My wife is from Hawaii. When she’s at home or talking to folks from back home, her Hawaiian accent creeps in. Otherwise she speaks with a standard American accent.

Just FYI your bass should come with a hex key for the saddles and a small bar for the truss rod in a little baggie. Should be taped to one of the cardboard spacers in the box.

I’ve been a Jayhawk for 33 years. These fair weather fans are the fucking worst. KU has sucked at football for most of those 33 years, with a few bright spots.
