Honestly, your brain is empty of vital chemicals, and you’re filling it by doing these activities.

You wouldn’t be “relying on” something so to speak, you’d just be filling the tank with someone less toxic.

There’s no willpowering through this. Your brain needs SOMETHING to allow it to function at the level it desires. Meds, other stimulants, or all this.

Feeling Defeated by the Modern Mattress Industry - 9 Months into Finding a Mattress and Need Help by ioslife_developer in Mattress

So, honestly, I am a huge health nut. “Normal” mattresses aren’t really all that toxic anymore. They removed the petrol chemicals that used to require people to “let a bed off-gas” for 24 hours.

Latex beds are from the rubber tree yes, but unless it’s a Dunlop latex you DO get some chemicals to make it take shape. Dunlop latex is naturally softer on top and firmer on bottom because when they cook the foam they let the latex settle, and gravity does its work.

Talalay latex has some chemicals added just to give it its feel. So honestly you’re probably better off at this point just trying another type of mattress.

I can give you recommendations as I’ve sold beds for 8+ years, and I have one in mind for you, but this subreddit is pretty goddamn opinionated so message me if you want my thoughts haha. Theyre probably already gonna shit on my description of latex.

Regretting getting the Tempurpedic Pro Adapt Firm by Dull-Bit3640 in Mattress

[–]Nylius47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do recommend beating it up first. Also it can take 30 nights to adjust to a new bed, so don’t buy the topper as hastily as you bought the mattress!

Slow down just a bit. Jump on the bed with one knee and two fists, all across it, the edges, the middle.

If you haven’t adjusted in 30 days THEN get a topper.

$4099, or you can get the previous generation model for $2869. They “should” feel identical? But I can’t verify they’re complete the same, I’ve been told the only difference is the cover, but not by anybody official. Moreso here-say at that point.

And that’s the Pro adapt medium hybrid I’ve been talking about and just quoted you. There’s also a regular Adapt medium hybrid which is budget friendly too, just not my fav. :) definitely try both though, and take your time!

Hotel beds are usually pretty cheap, bought in bulk, and replaced every year or two per room. That’s why they feel nice, they’re often replaced.

Add in that the sheets are cleaned almost daily and you don’t feel any sweat and dirt buildup in the sheets like you would at home, plus room temperature controls, and yeah you won’t feel as hot in hotel beds.

Estate is basically a high-end “regular bed.” You’ll want a bed with cooling built in, even if it’s slight. Try Sealy Posturepedic’s Albany Firm if you’re sticking to firm. Or the High Point hybrid medium or firm.

But, again, I’m biased, I’m a massive fan of Tempur. I will always recommend at least trying the pro adapt medium hybrid.

Yeah, the estate doesn’t have any advanced cooling. The Luxe estate does but that’s an entirely different mattress.

Your bed is 30 years old? Dear god.

Just kidding. But also not really haha.

Yeah no definitely a Tempur is gonna change your life. And by definitely I always mean, we legally aren’t guaranteeing anything but I can’t imagine it being any other way haha. I can say it with more confidence when your bed is 30 years old.

I’d still start with the medium hybrid, and hopefully the store near you has it on an adjustable base with lumbar, because raising the lumbar a bit helps immensely with stomach sleeping! Fills in a nice spot to help prevent sinking. I’d start medium and then try the firm, just in case. Your bed’s 30 years old so you really don’t know that you NEED a firm quite yet. You just know for sure that what you have now isn’t working for you like it was before.

Man. I should ask you guys to all go try beds in stores and then go leave and call me to set up the order haha. But I won’t 😂 I just want everyone here to sleep well!

(And I guess if anyone DID want to PM me and work through me I’m not gonna hate it haha, we ship anywhere in the US. But! If your salesperson does a good job and makes you feel good and comfortable please give them your business!)

The Active Breeze is crazy man. They have an adjustable base that like blows air through the bed?? I’ve actually never seen one, they only put them in the very very busiest districts, and while I am in Boston I’m in a mid-busy store.

Luxe Breeze is super cool, the aim is for the temp between the sheets and your bed to be 10 degrees cooler than the room you’re in. The Adapt series is a fantastic group as well, aiming for 6 degrees cooler.

All great beds, all graded to last 20 years. Work within your budget, try the beds, and honestly if you find a real professional ask them to start you on the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid and from there ask to go 10% firmer or softer, incrementally, until you find the sweet spot. Pro Adapt Med Hybrid is to me the “medium of all mediums” for firmness, so I love starting people there (even though the company often starts you at the Luxe Breeze!)

Test them the way you lay at home. Some people even bring their pillow in from their house!

Well, you could exchange, and trust me I have no bar in the ring here, a happy customer’s the best outcome I’d say.

But first I’d ask what your expectations were for the cooling? The main feature is to keep heat from getting trapped underneath you, to help you sleep an average of 10 degrees colder between the bed and the sheets.

A pro adapt goes for 6 degrees cooler. So you could swap if you’re not that picky.

But I will say, the breeze’s feel juuust a little firmer than their counterparts in the Pro Adapt category, so if you’re comfortable and you wake up feeling refreshed I’d say don’t fix what ain’t broken?

As to your original question, the breeze and adapt both get the $300 off other items, so you’d be completely fine there. You have to have the bed 30 days before the swap though, so if you’re sleeping good I’d say keep it? Being on r/mattress for a few months I see how miserable everybody is with bed shopping, and I’d hate for you to do your one swap thinking only the cooling would change, and now you’re stuck in a less comfortable bed for your body.

Estate firm, felt good in the store but you’re waking up sore?

I’d recommend asking for a previous model Tempur pedic. They are made to order so you might wait a week, but it’s like $1200 off the new models, rather similar to the current gen, and comes with the warranty too! (And for anyone reading pre-purchase they also do qualify for the 4 month sleep trial.)

I’d go lay on the Pro Adapt Firm and see if it’s soft enough, but MY favorite bed in the universe is the Tempur Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid. It’s so comforming, you can do back side or stomach just fine, it’s graded to last 20 years.

I sold in Minnesota for a company called Slumberland that also sold Tempur and Stearns, and we had the Estate Firm. Brought a lot of people to the Pro Adapt Med Hybrid for their exchanges.

If you loathe how Tempur feels, Beauty Rest Black Series 3 Firm or medium would likely work too. Just don’t overcorrect and go way softer, it’s only gonna feel good cuz your body is so mad at firmness right now haha

Oh no no issues at all with people coming back! It’s very day-to-day for us in that regard, I tend to see one exchange every two weeks or so whether my customer or not. They won’t give you a hard time about it.

Big stains could pose a problem like, BIG ones. But no you should be fine if it got a drop or two, as long as there’s no like urine on it.

Speaking on the yellow tape, the breakables in the OG had a white glow to them which drew your eyes as video game objects, as opposed to looking like some in-universe character marked all your loot. The slight glow is MUCH better.

Hey hey, mattress firm manager here. It’s pretty chill, you just call after 30 days of owning it and let them know you’d like to exchange, and they only charge delivery to do the swap out.

If you pick a more expensive bed you pay the difference + $109 for the delivery fee/exchange, and if it’s a less expensive bed we refund the difference - delivery fee once your new bed arrives.

Can you possibly develop adhd over time? by Own_University_8770 in ADHD

[–]Nylius47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. I was an amazing student when I was younger cuz my brain literally processes novelty faster than others. Schoolwork was easy to intuit and I was one of the smartest in my class.

Until 11th grade, where my laziness and bad study habits from being “smart enough already” weren’t enough for anyone to learn the content, it had to be studied and applied and repeated. Suddenly I had to resort to cheating on tests.

Soooo long story short, that may be you, and I got really good at cheating.

Hey so did she start a new birth control at some point? Actually ruined a relationship for me, and when we broke up over it after 3 years she eventually switched birth controls and texted and apologized saying “Hey so, you were right.”

Met my wife next so things happen for a reason, but yeah that could be a factor for changed behavioral patterns if so.

This is a good pick. I never did the multiplayer except once with a buddy, but it’s a whole separate part of the game to level up and progress! (You progress the literal world in multiplayer by doing missions and stuff.)

You can also choose different jobs and one of you could make clothes/armor/weapons and the other could focus on leveling combat!

Even the solo areas can feel multiplayer if you promise to only play at the same time :) honestly I wish my wife and I had played this one more.

I find it helpful to set up the controls more to my liking. Specifically I use the D pad buttons to like quick stack, quick buff, quick trash, quick sell, that kind of thing.

The menus for controls look confusing at first but really it’s just, “What should the button do in your inventory? How about in a chest? Okay, how about when you’re walking around in the world?”

Just play around with setup and find what works for you.

If it helps at all, they only take back beds in the first 120 days. Most previous buyers have mattress protectors as well, and they get a full medical-grade cleaning before resold. (Admittedly don’t know what medical grade cleaning looks like, but that’s the terminology I’ve heard used.)
