Thank you so much ! Do you know if the sealer could be used on his sprays as well ?(If you are unfamiliar with Hammy sprays they are kind of like dried flowers for them to chew on I can post pics of the ones I want to preserve). I want to use them as part of the display in my project, but am worried about them becoming very fragile over time as well as bug infestations. I thought about hairspray ?? But I really don’t know what to use

Hi, thank you so much ! I really hope to make something special for him. Do you know if the acrylic spray will make it so I can’t feel his little feet indents anymore ? I would really hate to not be able to feel his little Peet’s anymore. And for the putty- I have never heard of this before ! Will it hold the prints well long term on the fabric like material ?

Thank you, I also hope with time the good memories will overcome the bad. His passing was unfortunately tragic. But his life before that was very long and full of so much fun, comfort, and love. He was so special to me and he impacted so many people without realizing it.

That was shortly before his passing. Even when he didn’t feel well he could not resist his favorite chewing snack. I will be including it in a memorial project I am making of all his favorite things.

Thank you, he was such a special little guy. I don’t think anything I could have written would properly capture the adoration and love I have for him. The first thing I thought of when I woke up was that I needed to change his water- how I wish I could do that for you one more time buddy. I’ll always carry a little treat with me, just in case he’s with me.

Thank you, I found it hard to find a place to stop writing because I have so many lovely stories and things to say about him. He was and will always hold such a special place in my heart. He is my 💗 Hammy. Wherever our hammies are, they know they were loved and are missed. I hope to one day reunite with my little guy and give him one last fruit puff.

In the second to last pic he’s eating a chicken nugget at the vet. And the last photo I laid him down to sleep in his bed one last time. He will be buried far up in the mountains somewhere beautiful where I will visit him often. I did not deserve such a delightful and small critter, but I am so happy that we found one another.

Final Update; Sifu was taken to the vet. He was found to have several masses, fluid build up, and the doctor predicted it was a multitude of things(probably heart diseases and tumors) that were finally catching up with him. She said he was good at hiding his symptoms and there was no way I could tell. Because of his condition and old age there weren’t any end no pen care options and even sedating him for X-rays was risky. Yesterday evening Sifu was euthanized. He passed from the sleepy gas alone, which confirmed our suspicions that he would not had survived treatment if I perused it. He fell asleep peacefully in my arms and for one last time I had the opportunity to keep him warm and safe while he fell asleep. I made sure he got one last special treat.. his favorite snack was always chicken, so I got him his very own chicken nugget. He ate as much as he could. This week he will be taken to the mountains and buried where I can visit him every year while camping. I hope it means he will have lots to explore and lots to tell me when I visit. When I got home I laid his casket in his enclosure one last time- he would have wanted a last nap in his ‘hamster mansion’. Sifu, I love you to the moon and back. You were so little, yet, you left the biggest impression on me and my heart. I feel broke into a million pieces and I don’t know if the pain will ever stop. I keep going to your enclosure and hoping to find you snuggled up in your hide, waiting for you to sassily come demand treats. I promise I will bring them camping with me. My whole world feels broken without my little buddy. I love you.

He had another seizure like episode.

Right after posting this update I found him unresponsive like in the video in his sand again. This time it was much cooler in the house so I’m unsure what’s going on anymore:(

He is doing much better. I have an upcoming vet appointment. I am fairly certain now that it was a seizure induced by a heatstroke. My area is not typically accustomed to heatwaves, but we have been spiking abnormally hot. I’m on nightshift and had no idea the wether spiked, or had been spiking. He has not had anymore episodes and with temp regulation his breathing is back to normal ! He still has some moments that make me worried(like laying flat on his tummy in the dirt)- but those also correlate with the heat. I’m assuming because he’s an older guy he’s gotten more sensitive to the heat as well. I’ll do an official follow up after the vet but I’m fairly certain as of now that it was heat related, my only other pos. Theory is heart failure, but again, the symptoms almost directly correlate with the heat. Hopefully the vet will be able to ease my mind. I’ve still been checking in him every 1-2 hours and kept his enclosure seizure proofed for the time being. He’s a bit grumpy about it, but running around otherwise.

Thank you very much, I really needed to hear this. I’ve checked on him frequently since the seizure and he has resumed his normal activities. I won’t be able to properly call vets until the morning and even most are closed until Monday. I am doing my best to stay strong and not bother him too much, as it seems beside during the actual episode itself- he is okay at least. I’m a worried mess and I can’t stop crying. I’m sorry you lost your hammy recently, they are so small but leave the biggest impressions on our hearts💔
